Mine used to, and I dont see how but they dont anymore since I changed the front tie bar bushes...???

Ive never heard of that before. Creaking when stationary!

Its deffo not the pedal?

Can only think of knakered pistons in the calipers , loose calipers, grit between piston and pad, how can the front tie bar bushes cause it? im not saying they dont tho.

Interesting to see the replys to this Q :-)

hi,

When you mention the tie bar bushes do you mean the tension rod bushes. Are they the same thing or am i barking up the wrong tree. I know my tension rod bushes are knacked because when i lifted the car the other week i noticed them.

Yes, sorry, wrong use of name etc.

Let me say I dont see how this could make any difference, (changing these bushes for poly ones) BUT, it did????

could be siezed pistons. you can get rebuild kits which arnt too expensive if ness.

take the pads out & get someone to carefully press the pedal down, jam up any pistons that move & see how hard it is to push the others out.

mine had 2 siezed pistons on both calipers

Hi Jonce

had exactly the same problem, the pistons tend to move further when the pads are low that's what's creaking, put new pads in and it will stop guarunteed!!!!

Are you sure it's not the bulkhead creaking when it flexes as you apply pressure to the pedal ?

is this a common??? never heard of it before. The creak comes from both sides

cheers johno

I think it is pretty common.

I'v ejust fitted a new brace for the master cylinder to eliminate flexing and the creaking has gone.

Try the pads first you should change them after a while anyway, not sure which ones to reccomend though i need new ones my ones are squealing !!!!
