Do you have the shims between brake pads/caliper? They make a big difference. Also worth checking if your pads need changing soon...

A smear of copper grease on the back of the pad will help.

If the pads /shims look fine , are the discs ok?

Badly worn discs will squeel when they get hot.

some pads have a metal wear limit strip that rubs against the disk when the pads are low I would guess this is the problem. Z's are renowned for the calipers siezeing and a way to prevent this is to change the pads before they get too low. I recently changed mine at only half way down .......works out cheaper in the long run.

Calipers don't come cheap.

cheers guys il have to take wheels off and have a look should have done it before i put up post never mind i no what to look for now.

Is it not the scratch plate on the brake pad indicating the pads are low?

dont no really il have to take a look does the z not have a warning light to alert when the pads need changed.

Phil hi

the warning light for the pads is in the brake fluid resoirvoir and works on fluid level compared to pad wear. But if someone has topped up the fluid then the pads will be worn out before the light comes on. If that makes sense.

ps see you at the meet on the 29th

regards Kevin
