OK, I spent a while reading up, looking in the papers, online ads etc, and I think what I want to do is import a Z. I want a Manual TT, 2+2 (got a little'un), Targa top, in Black or Silver, and I want low mileage, preferable below 20k just to annoy a mate who has an astra turbo (lol) with 21k on the clock.

I'm willing to pay the going rate to get what I want, or maybe even a bit more for a good service ;)

Can anyone recommend to me, preferably through personal experience, a high quality importer? I really do want a real minter of a car, and will be really effed off if i get anything less lol

I'm down near brighton, and looking around, searching etc, there doesnt seem to be any specialist service centres near (within 50 miles). Can anyone enlighten me? am I really on my own doen here ? :(

Thanks in advance :)

Newera imports. Top quality service from Miguel the main man in Japan and top quality cars (if a little on the pricey side). Check out their website, it's very thorough and informative. Like I said, Miguel is excellent and really knows his stuff, made the entire experience of importing my own Zed an easy one. My only gripe is that the British end of the operation was , IMHO, lacking in comparison with the work Miguel put in, but that's only a small negative point. The final plus point for you is that they have offices in Brighton! ;) Good luck fella.

Leigh.

less than 20k miles? You will be lucky to find a Z with so few miles on even imports. You will have to pay a lot of money for a later year one to stand a chance.

Yep, less than 20k, like I said if possible, and i know it is because an importer has one in stock with 16k on the clock, only bummer is its white! (not to my own taste).. and it's up for 6k on a 91 Plate.

Thanks for the post about newera, checking them out now!

Do all you can to find one already in the UK, i know from experience nearly 7 months that importing is a PITA and not worth it TBH

I think you where very unlucky mate missing 2 ships.!

Had the same problem shipping took nearly 4 months and all you do during that time is think of the damage thats being done to your gorgeous lil car, have you thought about going to Southampton Docks and seeing whats in the auctions there? im told a few z's go through every week so at least you can see what your buying in the flesh. Bought mine through a company called Autoadvan and no I wouldnt recommend them.

I'll make a note to pop down to southampton! got any more info?

Id second Fridays words!!!

Newera Imports are good and Miguel will go out of his way to make sure your comfortable with what uv ordered. I bought my Zed from him and neva once had something bad to say. He got me whateva i asked, as said b4 check out his website.

Fas

http://www.futurautos.co.uk, they are a part of newera imports

like previously said maybe a little pricy but when i got my zed i wanted the best.

He's a guy called simon and he was recommended to me by someone that had bought a zed! he found me a red twin manual on a 'K', black leather and i honestly believe its about as good as you can get, it only had 23k on the clock, the drivers seat is like split fire new and thats saying somet with a zed! - it come with 18' split rims that would have been a fortune and a boost controller and ecu upgrade

Well recommended!

Tom

And how much was it????
Waiting with baited breath. It's worth what someone's willing to pay!

Sorry, i should have said, £6600 with 12months mot and 6months tax

Some say thats dear, but to be honest i would have give him £8000+ for the right one

Sounds like a decent buy.

He used to be a trader on here a while back. He's a nice guy and only imports decent cars. He's based around camberly/aldershot way (off M3)

Richard :smw:

Got mine from him......nice bloke.

He's based in Yately, but was gonna move house,

don't know where though.

Bit pricey, but as before.......good stuff ;)

He had a z with 26k on it, probably sold by now though.

are you confident in your own judgement to buy a good 'un?

as it's worth visiting the import auctions even if its to browse for a few auctions, basically your only getting whats on sale in japan anyway,

we have bought numerous cars/4x4/mpvs from the auction now

and touch wood not bought a "wrong 'un" yet

the import auctions are nothing like the british auctions, where mainly they are in there for one reason, they can't be sold elsewhere,

unlike our goverment, the japs give their people incentives to buy new cars

and boost their economy, so their laws on older motors are far stricter than ours, i looked at numerous sports cars before i bought my zx, and as ive posted apart from a auto box blip, im well chuffed, as a few have said i may have to eventually sort a box, but the money saved will still make it a bargain

theres an import auction in southampton isnt there?

the hardest part is deciding if you want a car over 10 years old, so no sva

just registration and mot, or under and sva/mot and registration

or i belive there is an import auction in derby, where you can buy the car ready sva'd etc and pay the little extra
