At last I have started.

Parts are coming off the car. I am hoping the engine will be out by Wednesday. :D

    Thats what mine looked like this weekend :D, but without the wings being removed.

    What is that bar just below the headlight holes. Looks a bit like a strut brace, but obviously isnt :confused:

    That bar is just a stablising bar for the oil cooler.

     

    Kia, to take the wings off you really need to take the arches off and front bumper off. To take the front bumper off you have to take off chunks of the undertray off. :(

     

    Then its simple. The bolts along the top one at the front underneath, one when you open the door, one at the bottom of the wing on the sill and one which is like on an arm which goes into the innards of the car.

    What's the plan Stuart? Why did you remove the wings is there rot to sort out?

     

    Any shots from the side - would be interesting as I've never seen the Zed with wings removed.

    Yep I will get pics from the side tomorrow. There is a amazing amount of hoses and wires round there considering its a wheel arch.

     

    The wings need a little bit of work especially the bottom of them, and when you see the pic from the side you see a drain hole which just dumps water on the inner wing and let it run down resulting it going rusty quicker.

     

    The wings are being removed because we are respraying them purple :D
