Hi everyone,

just wondering if any of you fellow z owners could help me with a irritating creaking sound from my front left suspension. Its not there all the time just every other day. Ive noticed its when the weather has got crap. Ive had the car for 6 months and it was ok all summer but when it started snowing etc... it began. Are Z's prone to any problems like this. Ive asked a few mecanicaly minded people and they say it could be 'a dry joint' ??? also i know the bearings are ok. It only creaks on the bigger bumps and if i change direction. Its not rythmical(if you know what i mean) (creak, creak, creak)but its loud!!

cheers

Johno

I have exactly the same symptoms at the moment - on mine it is a worn upper link arm which goes between strut & wheel arch. About £160-£200 to do the job by all accounts.

Check to see if you have any movement on yours, but sounds too similar not to be the same.

Cheers Alex,

The price you are quoting, is that fitted?????

I have had the same problem on mine for a year. It was the top joint. I greased it, sprayed it with wd40 countless times, but there is so much heat there it seems to go dry very quickly. The problem will be cured next week when it has new front dampers fitted. I found the source by unloading and loading the car on a jack whilst I 'felt' for the source of the creaking...

Yes inc fitting, - apparently the part itself is quite expensive from Nissan (you could try trader section on this site), fiiting fairly straightforward.

This sounds like my problem too. I've noticed a creak/ clunking when the car is cold in the mornings going over bumps, so much so that I have begun to steer round manhole covers etc. It does seem to get better after the car has run for twenty minutes or so. Have not yet explored what the problem is, but will as soon as I have a few days off next week.

I get more of a single clunk as it goes over a bump. I wonder if this is the same problem.

same here guys
