Guys

More prep for thrashing it on a track.....

Any tips on where to fit in the cabin?

I would guess on the passenger side of the gearbox tunnel but I'm worried that if I drill two holes to mount it what am i drilling into and will it create two attack zones for the dreaded rust or even worse two holes for water to ingress into the cabin ?

Has anyone fitted one and if so where and how ?

As always much appreciated....

Mark

good question, they normally go in the boot dont they? but u want it in the cabin like u say if youre doin a mental track thrashing!

what about the pouch on the back of the passenger seat, if its only a small one it'll slide in there.

Hi Mark,

I fixed mine behind the driver seat in the footwell - since I don't carry many passengers who voluntarily opt for the back seat it has not been a problem. Not difficult to get to either - can do it with my left hand whilst driving if necessary.

PS - if you do decide to purchase a fire extinguisher try to get a halon one. If you fire the powder version into the cabin or even the engine bay then you'll be cleaning off the residue for the coming months! ;) Also remember that if the engine does catch fire DO NOT open the bonnet as the flames will shoot out and fry your face. I'm sure Mark (Topless) can educate us much better on safe tackling of a fire.

I fitted mine just behind the drivers seat, about just below shoulder height, you can get a good fixing on the panel, and it's easy to reach.

Hi

hope someone can help!

TURBO'S-having read the Z buying guide! I appear, sorry the car appears to have a problem!

When I boost, boost reads 9psi no doubts, done this over 20x today to check. However on idle my gauge remains on 0!! When I accelerate the gauge go's to -3, well blips to the minus side then go's to +9psi.

This happens every time.

There are no signs of any, I mean any engine problems! It runs smooth, it idle's smooth, the temp is normal, the oil pressure is normal. WTF is going on!

Car is UK TT standard. engine replaced last Aug 03. There are no, repeat No! whistling or whining sounds from turbos, no smoke, no smells, nothing!

I do like my Z. First time out in two weeks!!!! :)
