My car has a tiny patch of missing paint under the front spoiler.

I got the paint code (LP2 G) and went to my local Nissan dealer

They said they'd never heard of it.

Any idea where I can get some paint? I'd prefer proper Nissan stuff. It's a very dark metallic purple called Aubergine i think.

Thanks again guys

LP2 I am sure is the Skyline purple. I think it may have been availiable on the 97+ Zs.

Look in your yellow pages and find the number of an automotive paint shop. If the paint on your car is in good condition the match will be virtually perfect.

LP2 is a Nissan colour dark purple used from 1994 onwards, im afraid as usual the main dealer doesnt know all he should, as for where to get it from depends exactly what u want, if its a little touch up bottle, then probably Nissan is the best place, if you are going to spray it your local Brown Brothers or Partco will be able to mix the colour, some motor factors can also mix it and put it in a spray can but you will have to ring round to find out who in your area does, also some paint manufacturers will list 2 variants of the same colour, a Number 1 shade, the most common, and also a lighter shade, which may match a faded paint finish better, and will have colour chips for you to look at and choose which is the best match although most pick the number 1 shade as there is almost no noticable difference between the 2 shades, hope it helps, if you need any more info let me know and i will try to help, use to spray cars for ICI as a technical demonstrator.

Cool.

Thanks guys.

Halfords once mixed me up some paint for another car and it was a terrible match so I was hoping to get proper Nissan stuff. I'd prefer an aerosol if I can get it.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Cheers

perhaps if you go back to Nissan and say paint code LP2 and miss the G out they might recognise it, if not I would find a motor factors that will mix up paint and put it in an aerosol, they mix paint all day long and are a lot better and more professional at it than your local halfords.
