Hi

I need a bit help, I have a leak on my radiator so i took it to the dreaded nissan dealer they did a compression test on which showed it to be knackered so they quoted me £350 plus vat, After a bit ringing round MJP (Mike feeney )got me one from his nissan supplier for £200 so i dont now were the f*** my local dealer got his price anyway i collect the car and ask if its ok to drive they say yeah as long as you watch water level so off i go home to find myself half way home on the hard shoulder overheating i stopped it as i dont want any damage so i waited till it cooled down, When it had cooled down a bit and level was ok i put a bottle of water i had in then set off for last two miles but as i set off Ihave this weird sound coming from engine as i push accelarater this got louder and louder until i lost most the power in the car,When it had cooled ifilled it water by the way it was nearly empty then i started it up, It started up fine i then took it up the road till it was at normal temp no noise so i open it up its now driving bloody great again so i opened it up its as sweet as a nut again .

Can anyone understand this or tell me wat it cud have been.

I wouldn't drive around with a leak in the cooling system.

The TT's are already prone to overheating with a non leaking and working cooling-system

You're risking blown headgaskets and a very expensive bill
