As I trust the people on here is there anyone who can give me any information on World of Cars (http://www.wocltd.net) in Birmingham. The web site looks slick, but I have this nagging feeling it used to be called something else and has 'changed hands'. I havn't been there, just wondered if anyone knew what they were like. Matty, you seem to have the info on Brum dealers, do you know about them?

IMHO opinion the majority of import dealers in West Midlands are asian and unfortunately they are very corrupt and would sell their own grandmother and have no quarms about lying to you. Unfortunatelty these dodgy businessmen give the asian population an extremely bad name.

Just realised, I visited this place as well! They are so dodgy. I remember looking at a Scooby 555 all the decals etc... Advertised in Autotrader for £4000, went and looked at it, what a nail, holes in boot from previous spoiler, wires hanging from boost controller, shocking condition, reckoned he would repair everything for me but actually wanted £8000.

I've driven from Wales to Keighley trade centre and stopped in Manchester on the way up for a night out.....that was the best bit. Their cars weren't the best and the Zed I saw was an utter shed and deathtrap, the suspension and brakes were shot. When you could get any sales staffs attention they couldn't be bothered. My experience with Birmingham traders has not been good either. Went up twice to see so called mint cars and they weren't and they were autos when I told them I wanted manual!

IMHO I think this site is the only place to buy a good Zed

Yes i bought one from him a blue one reg F217 UJN he gave me a 3 year warranty with warranty holdings on hooky paparwork, The auto box blew, the car shook like fook over 40mph, warranty holdings had never heard of him I bought it from a unit in the rough bit of Nottingham, i was daft and naieve, the car was even registered as red FFS!!!

Luckily i payed by building society cheque so i had a name, so i got a "contact" of mine to check the electoral register for all the sahills in Nottingham when i arrived at Lynette close to find imports everywhere i knew i had my man.

He wisely paid up, just as well cos if he hadnt id of put it through his window

dont blame you mate people like that need to be taught a lesson atleast you got your money back but still all the inconvience just goes to show that people should make all necessary checks etc before purchasing anything valuble and take someone with you if not sure about anything because theres plenty of cowboys out there that will do anything to rip people off.

I agree, ive posted a thread up to see if they can run a forum on dealers, to warn all the newbies where to and where not to buy.

couple of years ago I wanted a nice clean fresh import n/a, auto or manual it didn't matter. While trailing through different ads on autotrader I phoned this guy called Lee . This was all done over the phone as I was flying over from Ireland. said he had a silver n/a minter, selling them for years and this was by far the cleanest 300 he had ever come across. really convincing, and I was very naive.

I must have phoned him 10 times before i booked the flight just to ask him if there were any bad points about the car at all, no matter how small, because i would be out of pocket bigtime paying for the trip if anything wasn't the way he said . The night before the flight I called him and asked him to go out and check all the switches and interior bits were OK. he came back in and said there was no radio...that's it.."you won't be disappointed"

Met him next day at luton Airport and at first glance she did look very clean. he wanted me to hand over the cash there and then but I asked him to take us to a quiet place(big mistake!) outside the airport, so i could check it over. Noisy autobox to start with. wiper switch missing. electric seat switches missing. steering wheel badge missing. Driver seat torn. The stereo facia was fooked, middle bar broken off, just a big gaping hole.

When i pointed all this out to him he got quite aggressive, saying I had a cheek to run down his "mint" car. . At one stage he told me to **** off and that he was driving off and leaving me stranded there. Only thing I can say was the engine and bodywork seemed fine. So I bought it anyway for a reduced price, £3250, needless to say autobox went 6 months later.

Felt very embarrassed for a long time, but taught me a hard lesson. The guy is based in Kent as far as I know, still dealing in 300's gto's and supras.

Sorry for the long story but needed to get it off my chest! I don't know how these guys sleep at night.
