I've just ordered lots of goodies from Smithy. I was going to go with the red hoses on my red car. Smithy said this might be a bit much. Does anyone else have a red car with red hoses? If so do you have any pics of the engine?

This second question may seem daft and I won't go into why I want to know but has anyone ever had one of these shiny pipes pop off their engine due to too much shiny and not enough gripy?

Did the remedy involve anything other than tightening them back up? I would hate to have my shiny pipe pop off in public.

Dave all the hoses in there are Smithy ones, some have blue inside and some don't

Over to you Smithy.

Cheers Mac, in the early years and Mac was the very first customer of these, i used a certain make of hose band, simply cos they polished up well, they turned out to be not very good if you wanted to remove and replace the hoses, say when cleaning the TB's, easily worn, so i changed to proper Jubilee make about 18 months ago and they are fantastic, you can remove them as often as you like. The blue inside his hose sleeves is yet another early thing, Mac's are genuine Samco sleeves and this is something Samco do, they coat an existing Blue silicone in what ever colour your having, hence why you can see it from certain angles, now and for past 2 1/2 years i've used SFS hoses and nope you don't have any blue inside of them. Sold absolutely hundreds of these kits now Worldwide, Japan, Aussie, America, Netherlands and Germany, so extremely popular when you consider HKS ones are really awefull to look at and very expensive too, i would also imagine nissan stock hoses are even dearer, who knows. Hope this explains all guys and many thanks to all those who have em sitting proudly in their engine bay, from Mac's picture you can see they make a big impact.

cheers, smithy
