Anyone been to Rome?

Im going there soon and am looking for a cheap(ish) decent hotel (2Star-4 star) close to the colosseum or Trevi fountains. Been looking on tripadvisor expedia etc but cant work out exactly whats where.

Has anyone been and can recommend a decent hotel?

Best area to look at is Trastevere, close-ish to both and relatively central - also the centre of the younger end of the nightlife, full of restaurants and bars etc. Quite bohemian, studenty etc - but very chic and cool also.

Never stayed in Rome less than 4 star (c £200+ per night), but you should find much keener prices in Trastevere.

Bon viaggio!

Cheers, We are going for 4 nights in March so was hoping to keep the price under £300

Went in August 2 years ago - stayed near the station in a very nice 3* hotel for £60 a night. Got the hotel details from Go who I booked the flights with.

Everything in Rome is a fairly short walk away. Only place that we took a bus to was the Vatican - unfortunately the Pope was away on holiday!
