Do those grounding kits actually improve anything ? I mean, if you dont have a good ground, you would be having problems wouldnt you ?

Anyone fitted one and noticed an improvement ?

Cheers

Weird...I was just about to post exactly the same question only to see it appear at the top!

As these are only £35 from getgreddy.co.uk, I think I might give it a go anyway. I did read on here somebody's lights seemed much better which is probably worth the money alone. Plus they look quite good on the battery, if you like that sort of thing.

I'll be fitting mine on saturday and if its dry will post results off of my gtech of BHP gains (i doubt there will be any) and how smooth it feels,

so far matty and tonyc have both said its an improvement

hi lads, bought one of shrimpy last week, fitted it at weekend not really expecting anything to be different, but it is, the first thing i noticed was the revs don't drop when i switch my headlights on, the second is it really does feel ALOT stronger through the rev range, very notieable, and the third is my headlights really are alot brighter, I took a photo before and after.

I was going to post something about this on here yesterday but did'nt have time last night.

Yep, I can vouch for the improvement, mine must have had a poor grounding hence I noticed a difference in a few things;

Smooth idle

No drop in idle like before

Brighter lights

Seems more 'punchier' through range

Autobox smoother changes

I don't know about a BHP gain but my Z now feels much, much smoother.

Plus you get the benefit of your coolant in rad doesn't make the core sacraficial and eat it's way out from the inside!! (Oh yes it will!)

Best thing to do (I found) was to connect a jump lead to the negative on the battery and then touch around the engine bay and listen for a pick up on the engine note etc.....worked for me but not for others.

I tried the grounding with some smaller gauge cable and it worked so I made some up at work (pic on other thread) and fitted those as a permanent replacement.

I feel happier that there is not any positive charge loose in the engine bay or body of the Z.........I don't even get those little 'shocks' from the Z I used get from the door!! LOL

Matty.
