According to Nissan, the new Skyline will not be released until 2005 at the earliest. So I'm not sure what you've seen, but I doubt it's a R35 Skyline.

Dave

I think the next skyline will purely be a Saloon executive car

Sorry to tell you but this Skyline has been out in Japan since 2002 and sold in the States since November 2002. Only in the States its called Infiniti G35 TT Skyline coupe and yes they do make it as a saloon. The R35 GTR should have come out in April 2004 but has been put back till 2007 and will not be known as Skyline.

I've even had Linney@org.com price oner up for me. So you see It is the Skyline. Sorry you had to find out this way  :D :slap:

So neither of them is actually called a Skyline, neither does it even resemble it - how is it the new Skyline then??? LOL

Don't know about the next one, but they do the G35 in saloon and coupe'. 2 different engines available for the States as well. The same lump as the Z350 and a 4.5 ltr V8. :D

Because its called Nissan Skyline G35TT. Do a search for it on Japanese Motor show 2001. Also sold in States as Infiniti Skyline G35 Coupe' (Infiniti is Nissans version of Lexus) I've got a copy of U.S. road test at home. So both Jap spec and U.S. spec are called Skyline.

Well markzx, you live and learn, but you should never beleive everything your told, untill it happends :D

Dave :D

is it twin turbo? I thought they put the skyline back because they wanted a twin tubo but the 350z block wasn't strong enough?

According to my source, they put the Skyline back because they were having problems with the new convertable 350z, and had to put it's release date back. But then I could be wrong again,

Dave ;)

I put a link to the Infiniti g35 a few weeks ago - look it up. I think it's nice.

Geoff.

The G35 is actually called the Skyline in japan so it is the new skyline, its certainly not twin turbo though, it runs the same 3.5 v6 as in the 350z.

No its the same lump as the Z350, but according to the Japanese Skyline club there is one in the pipeline?

I'll have to ask my lads friend Takargi he tells me where to look. He's the skyline buff not me, but I thought I'd throw a few pebbles. :slap:

Thats what I was saying there are some sceptics here though. I'll find the Japanese Skyline link and post it. I'm also going to see if I canfind out who owns the one I saw. (if its local) and take some pics.

The next skyline will look something like this:

Old pic now, probably some newer ones about by now ;)

Hope you don't live in a glass house mate :D

I did see pics in a mag a while back as the new Skyline which is planned to be out in a few years time.

Geoff.

The current "Skyline" bears no resemblance to the last crop (R32, R33, R34). Having said that Nismo have produced a a Skyline 350GT - Tamura forbade them from calling it a GTR. The 350GT has a 3.5 litre V8 and is RWD only. The new Skyline is not on sale in the UK and there are no plans to bring it here currently. At first glance there are a lot of similarities between the new Skyline and the 350Z but there are a lot of differences under the skin.

The new GTR (without the Skyline name) is expected to be available in 2007

I think Skyline / Infinti are all based on the new FM platform with the 287bhp NA lump in it. (IOW a 350!) The brand name is different in different countries but none of them are what we'd think of - ie a V-spec R30something urban nutter. They're more... I dunno... 5-series competitors? There is at least one Nismo version out there in a different state of tune, twas in Evo last month.

I don't think any of the current offerings anywhere have ATTESA and HICAS (or replacements for), or indeed forced induction, except maybe some Nismo or concept one-offs. That is the car that appears to be in development hell. That's what I'd think of as a Skyline in the 32/33/34 generation but won't be called Skyline now... it's be called GT, or GTsomething.

By the way, I asked the Nelson about a soft-top and they told me categorically it's not happening!

Does that help? :D

Just buy an Evo instead.

Hi Mike

I was in Middlehursts yesterday getting some new hks plugs and a few nismo bits and bobs. As most people know Middlehurst are the only U.K. Nissan approved Skyline dealer and infact the only Nissan approve Tuner.

I was talking to Andy and looking at a Z350 when we got onto the subject of the G35 TT. He informed me that it was considered to be brought into U.K. but then rejected as it is only RWD. However The R35 GT T as it would have been called is infact Turbo charged but with just 1 large Turbo. (The infiniti and the G35GT are not) If I wanted one he can get a price and your looking at 8-9 weeks on the road. Whats more he informed me that the pics I posted of the pearl white car are actually of the Veilsided turbo charged model they looked at in japan last year. AND THERE'S MORE HE THEN SHOWED ME A Z350 brand spanking new with a Nissan supercharger option fitted and he claims pulling 370bhp at the wheel. Its in the show room now.

So like ya man said earlier you live and learn.
