Oil 15/60

Can anyone get hold of any 15/60 oil, I have been told that this the best type of oil for the zed.

I changed fro 0/40 mobil 1 to 15/50 mobil 1 motorsport, it has made an improvement, and the oil gauge works better, but I have been told that the 15/60 oil makes more improvement and that the gauge starts to work spot on.

I use mobil 1 15w50 - its v. good the only downside is the huge cost!

We just had a GB on some Castrol RS 10/60 which worked out at £23 a tub delivered.

We bought 20 tubs/5 cartons and they were all delivered to one address so better if you arrange it in local groups.

I'm with Mac1 on this.....15w in this weather is not the best choice :nono:

It's too thick from cold which could result in the excess pressure causing seals to leak.

I use 5w40 and my zed's oil pressure is spot on - even during the hot summer ;)

If you use the stock gauge, then the sender may be fekked if the readings are not right.

I think 10w is the highest viscosity that should be used, according to the hand book.

BTW i was never impressed with Mobil 0w40. It seemed too thin for my Supra and the pressure always dropped under too much heat. Hence I neveer used it in the Zed. 15w50 was ok in the summer, though.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
