The only locks that my key works in are the drivers door and ignition. Therefore, a while back, I managed to get my hands on a set of locks with a titanium key ;) and want to get the doors to work off the remote.

I have done a search but no one has actually explained how to do it and whats involved.

I want to put some 6x9s in the door too and retint my windows, so it would be a lot easier if I could get it all done in one go rather than start dismantling them again and again.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Cos

What alarm have you got on the car ?

hi mate, is it a jap import? if so you will need another c/l motor in the passenger side door and an alarm with a c/l output on it/ on the alarm there will be a wire for lock and a wire for unlock, these go to relays and then the door locking motor which pull and push on the rods, to open and close.

any more help mate just ask!

Hi Cos

I've got a similar problem with mismatched keys and locks (although I do have remote central locking) Will be interested to hear how much of a pain replacing all the locks is.

Also curious about how much a set of locks with a titanium key set you back?

David

TTop, if you are going to give advice make sure it is right!!

You will need a universal 2 wire motor fitted in the DRIVERS door, once in you then need to wire up either your alarm or remote locking kit following the instructions for "additional motor" or "single point" system.

Most decent alarms have the capability or running all c/l systems (single point, posative, negative, vacume and single wire) so extra relays aren`t usually needed.

Thanks for the overwhelming response guys. I thought my post was going to remain a virgin.

Oneday - My alarm is a Scorpion 1218 T2 (Cat 1)

Ttop - Mine is a UK Z.

Bob - Are special connectors needed to wire the "2 wire motor" on to the alram for the wires or not? and from what you are saying, will I need to do much with the passenger door anyway?

Silverfox - This kit should have been £90 from AndyZ but he let me have it for £35 because one of the door locks is a bit sticky. However, I'm not to bothered about that because when I wire the CL kit up, I will be disconnecting the door locks so I wont be able to unlock the door with the key anyway. I will only leave the boot lock in tact as an emergency. ;)

Thanks

Cos

thats' what i men't bob, my clifford use's two external relays? I just did'nt want to baffle him. appologise

Normally you just tap into the 2 wires that feed the door locking solinoid, providing your alarm has a central locking trigger on it, its just a simple case of working out if the door is locked/unlocked with a posative or negative pulse, and connecting the wires accordingly
