POWER I NEED MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a 300zx single turbo kicking out about 700bhp I have a T66 Turbo but it takes ages to spin up does anyone have any bright ideas on how to make this quicker. I thought about supercharging the car to give it power on tap down low and then once the turbo is alive that will be able to take over????????? dunno???????????

What do ya think guys

Have you considered fitting afterburners? With all that fuel flow capacity you must have, you could divert some straight to the exhausts!

Drivers behind might not like it!

700BHP.....is that all!!!!

Very funny!!!!! no seriously i have to much lag!!!!!!!

MY car is going in next week to get the veilside C2 bodykit fitted and then they are going to put a racing flywheel on it so at the same time i wanted to know what else could be done to help this

Only thing I can think of is a NOS spool up kit like the ones that JWT sell.. Should give the car a kick up the ass until the T66 (that's a serious monster turbo!) spins up..

Need a custom chip though I should think..

aaron nice one!

Should not need a chip the car redlines at 8,500 RPM.

The kick I get from the turbo I agree is very big!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So would supercharging help???????

Nice kit!

What other performance mods does it have on the car at the moment?. Do you have a straight through exhaust etc....? if not do that and de-cat the car, that would help with the lag. Give Johnny at Grasshopper Pro Sport a ring,(01942 671239) I am sure he can advise.

have you got images of that and what does the manifold look like?

plus have you got a dyno chart, i would love to see that.

oh and at what point in the rev range do you boost?

OK OK I will post some images tonight. (cheers for the interest). I have decated the exhaust and it has a 4.5 inch striaght through stainless steel pipe. (the noise is LOUD).

I am going to get a GT type soiler fitted with the c2 bodykit and the car is having a total respray to silver with some Andreww racing alloys (have a look on www.adderuk.com).

So am I ever going to be invited to some of your meetings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And what is the biggest bhp you guys have seen out of a 300zx?????

You'll need a custom chip to run NOS - the fuelling will need to be increased bigtime at the bottom end or you'll just punch a hole in the piston when the NOS comes on..

JWT do a range of chips setup to control a NOS system as well, what they do is fire the NOS, and add extra fuel, until the boost hits xxPsi (about 10psi I think), at which point the NOS shuts off, and the fuelling switches over to the 'on boost' map..

Basically..

I imagine they'll have a map that should suit your car - You running 720 or bigger injectors? Really all you need is a map that suits the boost you a running, with the injectors you have, that also has the NOS control built in..

Aaaarrgghhhhh (drool) that souinds nice, the biggest horespower zeds are over 1000bhp and i have articles on 700-950 bhp ones. i would love to see yours it sounds great

antoher query is when this bodykit gets done they are really eager to put a venturi (do not know if that is the correct spelling) tunnel on it

What do you guys think???????

You mean they want to put your car into a wind tunnel? Measure drag/downforce etc?

Or do you mean put an aerodynamic undertray on the car to create downforce?

Or something else entirely smile.gif

Az

put an undertray on to create downforce then the next step will be to put the car in a wind tunnel i suppose

Hmmmm mr money bags what wind tunnel would you use? lol

hey i am not mr money bags!

and as far as a wind tunnel goes I would not have a clue I do not call the shots when is comes to the car J&P do (thats obviously the people doing all the work).

I just love 300zx's and would love to come to one of your cruises (if possible). So 300zx have you looked at the link I gave you.

Didnt mean to sound jealous but then again I am a bit with only 300hp!

Have you told your insurance company all this?

ummmmmmm insurance company. The car is insured under my dads name!!!!!!! (cos they laugh at me)

But I am a named driver cos he has business insurance :-)

NOS is the cheapest and one of the most reliable way of getting your car to boost quicker, the N2O (nos) is cold when introduced into the engine, acting as a second intercooling system, and then it'll give a good low end boost, and if you get it done right it should cause little to no damage to the engine, the proper set up will stop the NOS boost when the turbo's spools start spinning, but then at 700hp you probably already know all about nos =P

maybe you already have nos set up?
