Some may already know about me ongoing saga with me arse ICE install, determined to sort this without having to approach the PRO's like Bob etc.

Story goes like this, Sony CD head unit just installed by Halfords...when I turn up the volume the head unit trips out and then comes back on. Obviously not happy! So read the instructions and it says that the unit doesn't like active, sorry probably passive, they're right before the speaker connections, crossovers, turns out that Merc. have crossovers installed, so cut them out of the equation, took the front speakers out completely and just tried it with the Brittney Spears(rears)...still tripping!

So headunit out of the dash, re-wired the speakers up correctly, e.g. + to +, - to - which Harrys hadn't done properly!!! Fuckwits!

Still tripping, head unit display is blinking when you wop the power, volume up, which shows that the power isn't right?

Noticed that there are 2 x Red wires, lives I take it? One thicker wire is wired up to the leccy aerial but the thinner wire has been used for the 12v live for the head unit...WTF? Surely this isn't right? So was going to swap them over but wasn't sure, didn't have any spanners to disconnect the battery, I do need to disconnect the battery don't I to mess with the live wires?

;-)

P.S. Must be passive, they're usually in line just before the speakers aren't they? Active crossovers are usually before the amp aren't they? SpaZ!
