Myself and a couple of friends are thinking about setting up a Japanese car club for Yorkshire Jap car owners. We're not sure how popular a club like this might be as yet so wanting to get some feedback from as many owners as possible. We would obviously have a website, with a forum and possibly a chat room, there would be an optional membership fee should you choose to join the club as well which would include benefits such as, free club stickers, discounts (Once we have negotiated such discounts) with tuners and accessory dealers in the Yorkshire area, track days (Both track and drag strip) and also attending car shows throughout the year with our own stand. Obviously there will be more benefits than this as the club grows so if you own a Jap car and would be interested in a club like this please add your name below by cutting and pasting the name above. I'll start it off and hope some of you are interested.

We have a stormer of a 32 gtr here running about 550 at 1.4 bar. Awesome rocking chair.

no offsnes to you, but aren't there enough clubs allready?

I know what you mean mate,but the guy is looking to set a scene up in the Yorksire area. I would guess this would make for some good fun for the guys in that area.

Johnny that is exactly what we are intending to do. We have hardly any jap meets in the north. The meets we do have are not well publicised and have very poor turnouts compared to what we are hoping to acheive. Clarkey if it is your view there are too many clubs you are entitled to that view however we have had an excellent response to this idea from most northern owners as they all feel a bit left out with all the southern meets happening and nothing going on in the north.

R32GTR, I see a hell of a lot of performance/tuned jap cars up in Newcasle and apart from the weekly Nova/Punto/Shed meeting there seems to be nothing else going on up here, so I'd be well interested in your idea!

 

Besides, I'd have to re-morgage to pay for the fuel for the Zed to get to a southern meet!!!;)

Believe me mate I know that feeling :) I'll keep y'all posted as and when we know more. It would appear that next week should be a key week in the starting of this whole thing and maybe even get it off the ground quick enough to organise a meet in February.

let me know if you have a meet soon i will try and pop down before the car goes in the body shop for full kit

Well the earliest we will get one set up is next month. Will be more likely to be March though as we want the meets to be large and we want them at the start of the month so that way MOST people will have been paid less than a week earlier and still have money in their pockets to attend. Don't wanna do one at the end of Feb and another at the start of March if you get my meaning. Will post up a link once the site is running. Then jsut check the site for info on meets.

ok the website looks to be set up by NEXT friday. Sorry guys this is not happening now. It may still happen one day with someone else but not with me. I'm headed back down south now so not much point in me running a northern jap car club. This is due to circumstances beyond my control.
