Help!

My aerial is fupped.....it won't come up and it's all plugged in and stuff as it should be, so the signal is not the best for all stations!!

However, I don't want it to come up now as I would rather it was smoothed over by ther body shop!!!

I do need an aerial to on the Z that works, and I really would like one of those other types that goes around your rear screen/windscreen, i.e. somewhere else but not obvious, anyone got any idea where I could obtain such an aerial??

Help, no sounds is driving me nuts!!

hi there matty,

yep not to keen on the elecy aerial myself,

was thinking about the bee sting type to put on the roof but it looks a bit difficult cos there seems to be a box section where i want to mount it, the windscreen aerial sounds a good idea but i have heard that the reception can be quite poor or am i confused with the mobile phone windscreen antenae

has anyone here got a bee sting or glass mount aerial.

dewi ap

guess we'll have to wait for the wide arch boys, see what they use...

There is an ariel in the rear windscreen, not sure how good it is though.

Another one who thinnks the aerial spoils the lines:(

yes the aerial spoils the lines imo. There is allready one in the rear screen. iirc there are 2 plugs behind the head unit. I Disconnected the rear screen one when i fitted the band expander on the jap stereo. I now get very poor signal until the aerial is fully extended. Maybe your screen aerial has been disconnected?

I'm not sure about the bee sting type as that's always out and it might not suit the Z.......

I am all for getting the aerial section filled and blended as I don't like it and never have, I'll have to keep seaching for a suitable in-car (windscreen etc) aerial.

Anyone finds one beofre me, let me know........pulling my hair out!!

Had a word with my dad, said goto maplins as they do a stick on aerial you can hide or go to a scrap yard and a get a rear screen aerial amplifier from a escort (probably get one from ford) and fit that to the rear window heater.

Or you could try mounting a normal ariel up inside the rear/front bumper, reception should be ok if you get good grounding.

Hi Matty,

I bought the one MTL has highlighted a couple of weeks ago but have yet to fit it. Should get around to it in the next couple of days and will let you know what the reception is like. The sales guy at Maplins did say that you'll loose reception quicker with the windscreen mounted antenna compared to the regular uppy-downy one.

See you soon mate!
