Spoke to SE about these as I was gonna use them , even sent SE the specs and all the blurb on them and got told in not uncertain terms to stay well clear because of what it does to the compression ratios of the car , from my understanding it raises or lowers the compression , can't remember which  so you can't run big boost , :( If anyone has any info to the contrary , I would be interested to hear as these look fantastin value for money

A car with a low compression ratio can run High boost,a car with a high compression ratio can only run low boost;)

Not seen them MX5s running 4psi with tubs? That's because their compression ratio is around 10:eek:

Hi stu,

Make sure you get all the rings the right way around as this is crucial, also put the pistons in the block the right way!

Also get the NA Oil squirters for the block another crucial element!!

Also clear out the water channel flashings in the block of the zed, it will help cool numbers 4,5,6, cylinders!

Basically if you buy your Wiseco pistons from these guys they add their coating & sell em to ya, only adding the cost of shippng between the 2 companies on top. So ya get their special polymer coating for about an extra £20 - Looks well worth it.

NO not worth it, wiseco have not officially altered their design, wiseco original design was flawed. Z1 have improved upon it and hopefully wiseco will follow their lead!

it wasnt flawed.

I read that the pistons worked fine and there are no problems with them. They just created more noise that stock for some reason. There was no drop in performance or reliability just people didnt like the noise.

Z1 then sent a spec of piston for use in the 300ZX. Wiseco apparently may not change their spec to the ones Z1 one uses.

Stuart

uummmm,

Very noisey according to ttvert. and they didn't label which way their pistons should be within the block!

If wiseco are saying that then talk to TT vert, but you got them from Z1 who have alleviated the problem!

But when I rang Z1 the other day, I could swear I heard the faint echo of a banjo playing in the background and everyone working there was someone's cousin:eek:

The ones from Wiseco from the shelf for the Z32 may not have which way to put the pistons but these are marked which was is forward.

Could you hear Cletus and Brandeen in the background then?
