Hi John

On my z John , When you turn your key second turn all the warning lights come on including the HICAS, Then when you turn over and start the engine they all go off (If everything is okay) .

I read on here that not all imports have HICAS ?, Maybe your doesn't have it ???.

Cheers DAZ

The translation of the fusebox-lid (taken from the Aussie 300ZX owners website):

Cheers, least I can see if the fude is OK now !

What does the HICAS light look like, and where on the dash is it ?

For both UK and Jap imports the HICAS light is labelled HICAS, is orange and is on the left hand side, below the temp gauge, but in the block of lights outside/below the speedo housing (if that makes sense).

Yep , Its Red on mine too

Nope, I checked and it's definitely orange on mine, as is the ABS which is next to it.

Mine is a '92 import, although it does seem to be a bit of a hybrid and seems to be one of the first of the series 2, or last of series 1 perhaps.

Oddly enough on the back of my sunvisor there is a load of old guff in Japanese with the little symbol (that Stuart described as being like a pie with steam comming off it!) labelled Exh Temp and then a load more stuff about SRS and air bags. My car doesn't have an air bag ..... confused.gif

My Jap 91TT does this too, but I imagine that it is due to lowish fluid level.. mine could do with a little more fluid (I just bought it and am not sure what fluid is in it so a top up is gonna be a pain - unless Chris knows what fluid is in it smile.gif )

After about 5 mins of driving the Hicas light goes off, and no probZ.

Actually, reading your post, I think that was not the question your were asking ;-)

Andy,

Are you sure your car isn't two different 300ZX's welded together! Have a look at the seam on the sill in the door opening! wink.gif

If HICAS is a prob whn car is cold, then disappears when car wars up, just try a steering fliud topup.
