hi every one, just thought id share this with you all as it concerns everyone with a zed.

looking every where for an insurance quote this year was with liverpool victoria but they quoted me 1000 this year, last year it was 700 full comp?

anyway sacked them off and had a quick look through the insurance threds on here, found one saying ring (houghton insurance and ask for ''ken salmon'') did so and over the moon with the quote he said he'd given me a discount for being a zed member!

619.00 full comp, unlimited millage, alloys and other mods declared, 91, twin turbo (import) 5 years ncb, 26, cat 1 alarm!!

this has taken the burden off the insurance this year and well pleased, he said they,ve started to do alot for 300zx.co.uk club and will be offering discounts to all (members) , I told him i would post something about this level of service on here.

hi mate the number is

01582 867763 and ask for ken salmon.

he'll take all your details and ring you back

don't forget to say your ringing on recommendation from the 300zx.co.uk site

he'll then send you the paperwork and you have to put your membership number on it.

hope this helps

undefinedundefinedOK recently aquired a pretty jap import 300zx n/a on a 90 with 90000km on the clock then came the insurance nightmare my previous toy was a mk 111 supra and the insurance premium was £345 not to bad i thougt anyway same company a plan charged me £845 i thought sheeeeeeeeesh a tad on the expensive side as touch wood im claim free and a licence cleaner than a babys butt i then joined your site to find various symphathetic insurance companies symphaphetic to the plight of a zed owner second call was houghton insurance ken wasnt about so spoke to a nice guy sayin i think we can help you well full comp limited mileage to 5000 a year and then the premium was given bit my lip and nearly passed out £158 yes £158 are you sure yes said the man at houghtons so i prompty insured my zed then telephoned a plan thatcham to tell them to cancell my policy they asked why well smugly i told them of my good fortune to stumble on a great club site thanks for the help guys and ladies and one hell of a big thankyou to all that contribute your all stars

Sounds good..

I phoned up my current insurers, adrian flux, and they told me the following:

UK n/a - 577.50 (even though they do not exist?)

UK t/t - 682.50

Import n/a - 1260.50

Import t/t - 1806.50

I choked, mostly because they are all for tpft cover!

I asked why so much more for an import, she said "there's no market for it", I pointed out that if it was fully comp I might possibly understand, but third party? how could they justify the increase! Anyway, I laughed.

For your info, thats for a 24yr old, 4 yrs NCB, SP30+SP60 (in 2000), Garaged... I hadnt even mentioned mods.. lol

I tried tesco a few days ago, 676 tpft on an import tt, so much more viable lol, will shop around properly when I've actually got one!

It's often worth asking the person who does the insurance quote to "discount 20% off the screen price".

They generally have to go and ask their manager but loads seem happy to do it.

mines about £750tpft thats with 3 years ncb, cu30, import, im 25 and its garaged and thats thru adrian flux.

im 21, insured with tesco t,p,f,t £1150 i have 4 years no claims!

1992 uk 300zxtt, performance exhaust, decat, alloys, spoiler, HKS bov's, paddle clutch, trust induction kit

334 quid tpft, 3000 miles, jap tt no mods, 30 with 6 y ncb footman james, they also did my micra runabout and carried the ncb over to that as well.

Houghton quoted me £541 for a fully modded TT import :hyper: so it must be lower now im getting a standard SWB tt...... :hyper:

Where do i get my membership number from? I've never recieved one.

I know that this post is a month old, but your membership number is within your public profile. Just click on your name, and up pops your membership No.

Dave

I've just had my renewal through from Adrian Flux, £1558 F/Comp, 27yrs old with 8yrs no claims and clean licence :xxx: , I think i'll be shopping around.

Baz

I dunno why Adrian Flux still have a good reputation, they're EXPENSIVE!

Just done mine 28, uk tt, garaged, 8 years ncb, 441 quid fully comp

Direct line wanted 1100 quid  I think not

cheerz, mickey

Firebond quoted me 561 on line and i requested a phone call from them on the form. They duly rang ME the following day(saving me money on the call-tight git-more to spend on Z),discussed my requirements and finally quoted me 561 again. 35, over 9 yrs NCB, parked on drive, 12000 miles a year(in need of a pay rise or will have to move into a tent!),no disclosed alarm or immobiliser, stock UK TT manual. We discussed what the cover included, fully comp, audio cover, windscreen cover, protected no claims, legal protection. I then mentioned this forum,he asked had i joined, I replied not yet but was going to, wait two minutes he said, on hold i went and thought maybe 20-30 quid off if i joined. Well blow me down when he came back and quoted me

£344

£217 off for being a member, same cover as B4. Know any bigger one off savings?
