Hi - I am new to the forum and new to the idea of owning a 300zx - I have made my mind up to buy one - based upon the reviews I have read and obviously their stunning looks. I have had a look at two so far, both TT's, one was an import, one was a UK car, both were 1991 (J). Both were really tatty - I am not a perfectionist - but am looking for as tidy a one as I can. I have another to look at this weekend - it is a 1991 (H) TT import - 55,000 miles in red and is apparently in immaculate condition. It sounds like it fits the bill. Can anyone give me any particular pointers towards things to look out for and things to avoid etc. I am not a novice - I know my way around cars reasonably well. many thanks in advance - kind regards Andy:dance:

The best advice is buy from a forum member....

Check the for sale section, contact a member, view and buy!!!

The cars here are the cleanest and most lovingly looked after.

Pete's got a great car for sale...

So has Scoops.

Try them.

Cheers

Best advice I can give is look at lots until you find find a good one. I agree that the best place to start looking is probably forum members.

My fisrt one was from a friend and it was a belter - unfortunately I crashed it into a fance and wrote it off :( Looked at zeds all over the country until I found one that compared.

and obviously check out the links/FAQs section for the buying guide!

Happy searching!

David

Hi Andy

Which part of the country are you from?

In my part of the world - there are dealers - importers - who have Zeds in stock. AKC is one. I think the website is:

http://www.akcherts.uk.com

See dealers in Autotrader - Herts Bedfordshire - a few around. At least you get a 6 months warranty with a dealer. I bought mine from AKC of Herts. 3 years ago, and 6 months ago my wife bought a Supra from him - we found him good to deal with. But I haven't seen the Zeds he's got in at the moment.

Good luck,

Geoff.

Hey Geoff - many thanks - I am based down in Bath (Somerset) - I have taken a look through the autotrader over the last couple of months I have also seen acouple come and go on ebay - I have been talking with Pete Shrimp - his car may be more than what I could spend - but it sounds well looked after and in good condition - I have seen some really poor examples over the last few weeks - poor mods, poor damage repairs etc. I have had a qucik look at the web site - no 300's showing on stock list at the moment - a couple of 350's though. Thanks again man - bye for now
