Boost Controller

If Im running 11psi of boost already and am about to install a HKS EVC3 Boost controller should I somehow work out how to get boost back down to 8psi (standard??) before I fit it?

If so where do I start looking?

How would I find out - bear in mind i've not had the car long and dont know what Im looking for,

Thought standard was 9psi?

7psi when engine cold or if in limbo/Safe mode.

I have boost jets..I generaly set the climate to 40 eco then when the heat starts bellowing out I know that full boost is on...its caught me out a few times..

are you measuring that on an aftermarket boost gauge, or the stock "give or take 5psi" gauge in the dash?

You probably have boost jets installed and they are most likely to be in the top end of the hoses going down to the wastegates. If you pull the hose off of the intake end you should be able to see them. You must remove these before installing your controller.

If you don't have an upgraded ECU you will need one to go higher than 11 or 12 PSI.
