Finaly got time to post the pics of the HKS HyperGroundSystem, came as a very exstensive kit,all gold plated, all crimp tools, hex keys, brackets included, the system can be fitted 3 different ways depending on how much room you have at the battery,i decided to use the circle plate set up,it has a offset connection for the battery earth terminal underneath, the circle plate then goes into its own conector thats bolted up same as if you were conecting earth cable to battery, connected wires to suspension top, body, plenum x2,hicas unit, depending on how much cable left i will put one on lower engine block, and on auto box casing.

Results, well believe it or not more or less the same as Pete,.

1- Idle now at 800rpm(was1000rpm)

2-Smoother idle

3-Gear change(was not exspecting this!)so so much better, the best result,as i had a problem with it holding 1st and 2nd to long when accelerating under normal driving, very smooth now, more positive, changes gear spot on in relation to engine speed:)

4-Throttle response, bloody brilliant, just have to touch accelerator and she picks up great.

5-Boost response(not expecting this either)comes in earlier(5psi with just a touch,before i was depresing throttle further

6.Lights,went out yesterday to cinema, came back in the dark, but i could actually see better, lights were definatly stronger.

So i would say that it has made a very big difference in fitting a extra earth system, well chuffed:dance: Tony

is it easy to fit or do you need a sparky to fit it?

:)

Easily cheaper to source parts to make up the kit yourself, but i am a lazy git,but very happy with the HKS quality(nice purple too:D )

Nice Tony!!

See it's not in my mind....... the grounding does work (NB not on all cars - See Pete Shrimp's thread!)

I have used cable and clips I already had and fed mine through Smithy's silicon hose (nice blue!!) and it does the same job as Tony's, without the nice connectors on the battery terminal!! ;)

Nice Job Tony...........

I think we should have a grounding meet.......Well, we are all in the Midlands!

Up for it??? ;)

Matty.

You happy with the results the kit has made then ?

  • Author

Yes Chris, good improvement all round as i said above, but one thing is the price, being HKS i think 50% of price was brand name, but i am very happy and it looks good,so cant complain:)

Tony

That's what you pay for most of the time with these big firms. Makes the kits i'm doing seem to cheap :p
