This has happened before and i topped the "dont laugh as im stumpped for words" thingy up and the problem went away, the greta questions is what to top it up with.

Featured Replies

The thingy is a resovoir I'd guess, the real question is where is it going ????

Brake and clutch fluid is the same stuff. So DOT 3/4/5, whatever your favourite flavour ....

Er.. Er.. If you're asking what to top up the clutch reservoir with then the answer is DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid (according to the manual)...

if you're asking why is there no pedal pressure....

Master/slave seals? Air bubbles? A leak?

Damn you, beaten by 1 minute smile.gif Lol

You have a master cylinder where your clutch pedal operates and the slave cylinder down by the clutch that depresses the clutch plate to release the drive when you apply pressure. If your fluid has been falling then its going out somewhere - most probably past the slave cylinder seals. If you let it drop too far then air gets into the system and before you know it you cant get gears cos you cant now operate the slave cylinder. Get it checked quick before it fails totally leaving you stranded - unless you're good at no clutch gear changes and restarting at the lights each time in first gear.

Hmm this happened to me about 3 months ago and i topped up and i just get the ipression it is happening again?

So is that another set of track time tickets up for sale then warren??? LMAO biggrin.gif

Get it topped up then checked out AFTER trax!!! Don't do what I did and take the front tie bars off a week before then find out your only gonna get them back the friday before...... frown.gif Oh well, guess I'll be working until midnight Friday if I have to smile.gif

CheerZ,

Andy

That happend to me once and I got scared.

I was on my way to North and while in 5th gear I tryed to change to 4thand there you go the clutch pedal was like dead...no pressure..had to go with my inertia from 3rd lane to emergency lane.....then after a minute or so...the clutch looked ok....went off ont he road...and then it happened again...then went OK AGAIN!!!....so I stopped to a service station and called emergency service...(in my ignorance I didn't know what it was and I was already worried for a potential big BILL for a new clutch ..or some like it)...

Emergency came around and could find NOT FAULT...liquid was ok.....no licking visible...but then it looked like the little (very little) hole on the lid of the reservoire was obstructed....so the guy started blowing inside it to clean it up....anyway sicne then no problem ...that was probably more then 2 months ago'....this guy opinion was that some air-bubble caused the problem....and he thinks it happend because I usually do only home-work town driving and indeed that day was my first long trip on the motorway ince ages....so he says that an air byubble could be in a place armless...and only pops up whne you then go and drive on a long trip on motorway.....well this was his opinion....check you lid...I hope this helps...and that it doesn't happen again!!!
