Just thought I'd relate yesterday to you all........

 

Pulled past a bus on the Hook Road near where I live all ready to give it some right foot and tailgating me - un-noticed up to that point I should ad :nono: - was a police Fiesta. Needless to say he followed me for a while. Thought I'd shake him if I pulled into a garage. No such luck.......pulled in right behind me.

 

Now I'm thinking 'MOT, tax, insurance all ok, wasn't speeding....what does he want'

 

While I'm filling up he's sitting across the forecourt giving me a right evil eye !! My daughter is getting scared at this point - even more so when he circles the forecourt and pulls along side......

 

"Are you interested in selling it ?" "Pardon?"

 

Then followed a lengthy conversation about the car, 300's in general and his fruitless search for a good car. I told him 5K and it's his. He took my number !!!

 

I think the parting comment was something like "Nothing else comes close - especially at this money"...........

 

Very surprised to say the least.

Happend to me on two occasions,last being a local Asian shop owner just before xmas,was talking bout cars etc in shop ,he had a look at mine and offerd £7500,bloody tempting as i had just been following up a lead on a GTR R32,needless to say after a few days out in the Z again i thought naaaaa,*****cks,keep it:D (nearly fell to temptation though:eek: )

ps,as you say,Nothing else comes close for the money etc,are you going to sell if he wants it!!!!!!!

I gotta say that london police arent that bad and are pretty good compared to some other cities. Iv pulled some rather foolish stunts in my time in various cars and iv usually been able to squirm myself out of it.

 

The worse i seem to find are Thames Valley they just wont take any excuse they'll just penalise you there and then and lecture you. The Metropolitan Police are a little easier i seem to find.
