Any one who has tried the GTR brakes on a 300ZX. Did it make any difference? Is the difference much better of just a little?

My Vauxhall Corsa can out brake my Z.

Perhaps I need to put those brakes on my Z. ;)

Thanks Daffy, I know they are a lot better, just wondered if they are a lot better or is it worth getting another type of setup.

Is this with the GTR-33 brakes?

I think Macca has R34 Brakes, I have R33 and I can tell you the difference is amazing, even though I though Stock brakes were OK, these are something else.

Huge difference it's hard to describe how much better they are.

Much more actual stopping force but mainly they don't fade like the stock ones do.

Best mod I ever did, gives you the confidence to use the power on twisties.

I've got R34 but I think they're just the same, except painted gold and with different diameter mounting holes.

Your R34 ones, are they from the VSpec with the 18s or the normal for the 17 inch wheels?

As Stu says,R34 V spec, but they are the same as the 33 only in gold.

Cool, looking into getting some brakes.

i would like to get some gtr brakes as well

anyone know the best place to get em?

Vinz, they felt really good. Obviously it's hard to say on an industrial estate, but they're certainly as good as the skyline stuff, if not better at the sort of speeds I was doing.

TBH, the best thing about them was the pedal feel, which was really nice and solid. Don't know if that's to do with the brace you made up though or the brakes themselves - probably a bit of both.

John,I had a brake brace fitted when I first bought the car,at that time it had stock brakes and It did make a hell of a differance then.

Go get one fitted mate!

R33 brakes are the same as R34 brakes (allowing for V-Spec non-V-Spec) abd interchangeable. I know of one car with R33 calipers and R34 disks. I guess it depends whether you like black or gold;) If you are going to upgrade though, whatever you do is make sure it's a GT-R (not a Gts, Gts-T or GTT)

Try these:

Don't bother asking about doing it - JUST DO IT you will NEVER look back!!! The difference is quite simply unbelievable...

Import owners: the day you fit these is the day you feel stuipd for driving round in a death trap since the day you bought the car.

really
