Hi,

Who already has this unit.

I have an old snooper SRD from many years ago. It's short range on detection, I don't want laser detection as I think it's useless and the laser jammer is the answer too that. So, my quetion is, if I only wanted to upgrade to loose all the annoying false alarms would I be wasting my money.

Currently i get various bleeps in town, all service stations detected, all traff lights, especailly ones on the roads crossing motorway bridges!

Cheers,

Jez.

The latest Bells are better, you can switch off different bands, X band is only use for traffic lights, but they still pick up service stations and supermarkets.

Jez,

Don't totally discount laser detection. A close personal friend (...) was doing 120+ when he got a laser detection and slammed on the anchors. The laser signal remained for about 2 seconds, by which time the laser gun reading was sufficiently low that he drove straight past the offending officer of the law (and on to the laundrette).

You're of course right that your speed is being read the moment the detector goes off but if the drivers reactions are quicker than or on a par with the gun operator's then you get a fighting chance.

The laser doesn`t have to be on you to be detected. If the police are on a busy road doing their stuff then the chances are you will pick the laser up in plenty of time, i`m not 100% but think most detectors will pick lasers up upto 1 mile away.

You better be damn shit hot fast then to beat him! Considering the guns used in the UK only take 0.3 of a second to get a fixed speed reading and distance to target! Diffuser is yer best bet...sorry Bob, was gonna come over this past weekend and see you. My stereo dilemma is going from bad to worse!!! Getting pissed off now!

Yeah, but your best shot is that they're pointing it at someone else and the detector scoops a few spare photons out of the ether, giving you a chance to slam on the anchors.

I've got the S5 - from Bob - very good unit.. the odd alarm from those traffic lights that use K band radar for traffic management, but they are always low level alarms..

Think mine might need repositioning - right next to the A pillar seems to affect sensitivity..

I also got a Laser Diffuser from Bob.. Haven't 'tried' it out yet.. And don't intend to - but it's good peace of mind..

Bob - I'm up for a laser defuser in the deal... If you come up with the Morpheous Geodesy in any deal make sure I know about it also!

Guys, which is the better model, snooper or Bell.

Jez.

I think Bob mentioned on another post that Snooper bascically copied the Bell design and sell it slightly cheaper.
