I saw the strangest thing in a long time today. The rain was pouring down as usuall causing a few drians to flood. On my way back from Southport I was behind a Land Rover 4x4, new ish but not brand new.

Driving a long a drain had flooded and causing our half of the road to be flooded. The water was only about 3 inches deep at the deepest place. Traffic was coming the other direction a little, so the driver in the 4x4 slowed down until the other car went past and the DROVE AROUND THE PUDDLE!!!!.

Do these people know nothing? The car is designed to go through several feel of moving water and they go found a 3 inch deep puddle.

these vehicles are designed for the rough stuff and water I agree, but not at road speeds they can still suck in water if there not modified and they can aquaplane just like the rest of us, however most 4x4 vehicles these days are driven by the school run crew or weekend warriors who just have no real idea of what these vehicles are truely capable of so they treat them like cars.Maybe the driver didn't what to upset the other drivers by throwing alot of water up

I agree with you Stuart.

Even in the Zed, I will still go through a 3 inch deep puddle (very slowly, so as not to get water in the air intake) if several cars are coming from the opposite direction and it would be a long wait for the oncoming traffic to subside.

I still drive round it if the road is clear, though.

Why are people afraid of a little water, especially if you can see from curb stones, verges etc how deep the puddle is.

But you are right about the 4x4 thing though - they sit well over a foot off the ground FFS:rolleyes:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Yeah he's a pussy - in my pick up which isn't 4x4 but still very high I'll go through anything!!!!

Bet they didn't look in their mirror before pulling around the puddle either...

Had a 4x4 pull out in front of me the other day and I KNOW she didn't look in her mirror - because it was still folded. She couldn't have seen me in the interior mirror because she was in front of a box van.

When she has an accident I hope her kids are not in the car. Christ, they'd be safer walking to school!
