I've coolant leaking from the back of engine, and was wanting to check what pipes were back there, (for when I try to investigate with a mirror !!)

Previously, I've seen a picture on the site somewhere which shows the back view of an enigne out of the car, but I can't seem to find it now I need it........

Does anyone know where I can find this, or similar ??

Thanks

Ash

off topic i know, but looking at some of those engine pics, wtf were the designers taking at the time, i mean how much can they cram onto one engine, must have gave some one a real headache designing the beast, you can just imagine the head honchos at at nissan "right guys we have this engine bay thats a bout as big as a marlborough fag packet and we want to put a 3 litre v6 engine in there, oh and twin turbos, air con, hicas etc."

you drop a nut in there and its like a black hole.

That is why they made it a V6 as to keep the front of the car short and to help the 50/50 weight distribution.

Macca while you got that engine out you can get your big hands in there and give it a good clean!!!

Had a compression tester on it, and can hear the air/water escaping, but can for the life of me see anything even with bulbs and mirrors stuck down there.

Almost certain its not the heater pipes, seems more to the corner (drivers side) of the engine, near the top I'm guessing.

Is this where the water pipes to the turbo are situated ? Couldn't make any out for sure from the pictures....

It's either a leak from one of the small 4mm water pipes under the plenum or it's a head gasket leak.

Hi all!

Know where you going Mac1 but these two hoses are easy to see if they are leaking. Changed my own in an hour!

But some pipes are just the pits to get too!

Im still looking for my water leak somewhere around the back LHS turbo! Vijay sent me some pics too. Look at my thread on the forum.

Happy looking!!!

Arthur
