Don't know about power chips. If they only change the speed limiter in the chip like superchips then avoid it. If it doesn't address items like the JWT chip I would not reccomend it.

FYI: The boost is upped by inserting boost jets or a bleed valve into the wastegage line, the ecu does not alter this, it should alter the fuel map etc...

The majority of the power increase comes from the 'boost upgrade' not the chip. The chip is likely to enable extensions to the standard fuel/ignition mappings when you move outside the standard Nissan parameters. eg. significant increase in airflow etc. This is what the JWT chip does.

Be very carefull of these thibngs, superchips /powerchips HMMMMMMMMMM sounds the same lol

Have done alot of background investigation into the old chippy! JWT is the safest and best for power increases IMHO!

MINES MINES MINES MINES Timmy when are you going ot learn lol

Warren - did the firm who repaired your holed piston tell you the cause??? biggrin.gif

Could have been the ecu.......

CheerZ,

Andy

what's the price tag on jwt ecu's?

Man The cause of my holed piston was a little italian in Pomezia, Whom ended up going missing .... i mean went on holiday when i tried to confront him lol.

it did have alot to do with the fact that i was running 91 octane, non turbo spark plugs and an ecu designed to run 102 and .8 bar lol

...and I thought it was SE...LMAO! MINES, MINES, MINES...

For the JWT you are looking at around £550 I think. You'll also have a 'core charge', where you have pay about £1100 (in total)then send your old ecu back before they give you your refund.

So in simple terms, £1100 until they get your old ecu back, then you get £550 refund....

I think these prices are about right - not 100% sure though...

CheerZ,

Andy

Timmy to be perfectly honest with you, my car was never quite right after S.E had touched it, and that is no joke. The mechanic at S.E even looked at my ecu and said it was dead standard lol (the big mines plaque should have been a give away)

You can get just the EPROM from JWT for $100 (70 quid) excl. shipping, excl. boostjets

...no core change, but you'll have to install/socket the chip yourself and no warranty is given.
