Tyre PSi

What psi should my tyres be at, I have 255/40/17 rear and 235/40/17 on the front, someone did tell me that there is sum that you can do to work it out.

Twin Turbo, like the one that won the 350z on top gear, but in red.

Cheerz.

I'm on the same sizes as you and I'm using 32 front and 35 rear. This is 1 PSI below the manufacturer's recommended, but I find it stops the front washing out, plus oversteer is a bit more predictable (ie only does it when I ask for it - when I was running the higher pressure I never quite new what was coming next. :D )

Steering isn't really any heavier / lighter either way.

I'm on old and not very good (ContiSports and Vredstein) tyres as bought with the car so I'll probably have to experiment all over again when I put something decent on over the holiday.

All that said you could probably stick to 33/36 for a daily driver and save some tyre wear. Cos the Z is my second car I drive it hard, which is what I bought it for!

...and having just read another similar thread, it's worth mentioning it's REALLY sensitive, I now check mine every third or fourth outing (not counting Tescos LOL). You can generally feel the difference if one's lost a bit of pressure.

Why not try a set of pressures, smack it down a B-road, try another set the next day, until it feels right for you!

Yep good idea, just another reason for me to throw the car around a bit.

oops, how does 21 psi in all 4 tyres sound guys - changed to 32 and 35 and car handles like a sportscar now :D

still wallows a tad at the back so Im gonna get it booked in for rear shock replacement but having the correct pressure does make it a pleasure to drive.

;)
