Just goes to prove that even if you spend over £100,000 on a car, you'll never get it back! Should be kept on here to show to the next person who asks how much their Z is worth with all their extras.........50% of fack all I'm afraid.:(

As far as the Lada is concerned........that's a well polished turd!:D

Cash deal only - odds on the v5 is lost?

I would rather have that than some saxo type rubbish anyday.

much more fun :D

Paul

LMAO..........talk about cashing in!!!

(fair play!)

I'll get my Z on 'plop queer' and get them to make it over with LOTUS engineer's working on have it back £100,000 being spent on it, drive it for a few months then stick it on eBay!!

Jobs a good un'

(Two real reasons I would not really do the above, 1. I love my Z too much to part with it and 2. A LOTUS 300ZX, how much trouble would that be, jeeZ!!)

Matty.

i would wonder a lot about that, he has said that due to time and financial restraints he cant MOT it. So it isnt going to pas its MOT first time, and whatever is wrong with it is going to take more than 7 days (its on a 7 day listing) or a shed load of money to put right. Cars "sold as seen" translates to "if you make it out the drive, youre lucky"

No. If you buy a car and make a recept if you dont put sold as seen on it, anythign that goes wrong with it you have the right to get your money back.

I'd be expecting some more impressive performance figures than 0-60, 7 secs, T.S. 135mph, if I'd spent a 100K - even if it was on a lada! (For example, one of these could be employed - Mmmm)

100k on that?

No way - more like 10k! Where did the 100k go - on a 2nd hand Fiat engine, some shocks and new seats?

Would be a good laugh and looks nicely trimmed but you could get a Zed for the cash and I believe you will find yourself approaching sixty miles per hour considerably before the clock has got to 7 seconds....

How many rungs does it have??:D

geddit? geddit? lada..... ladder.......

In the program they said that over 1000 hours of labour had gone into the car, including engine and chassis work, as well as all the interior. They said that Lotus technicians would cost at least £100/hour (sounds reasonable for a 'consultancy' fee) and therefore the car cost £100,000!

no seller can make any claim which affects your statutory rights (eg, sold as seen) - ie. 7 days right to ask for a refund if not entirely satisfied, and 6 months for a refund if goods fail prematurely not due to abuse.

but for a private seller these rules may not apply - but for a garage they definitely do. Problem in most cases is that most things fall into category of normal wear and tear, especially on an old car.

The seller cannot display notices saying 'no refunds' on sale goods.

Buying Privately

If you buy from a private seller, example a car or other goods from the small ads in the local paper, the law gives you fewer rights than if you buy from a trader.

In such circumstances, goods only have to be as described. they do not need to be free of faults or fit for their purpose. It is a very much case of buyer beware! You should thoroughly examine the goods before purchase. It may be a good idea to obtain an expert opinion on the goods before purchase. It may be good idea to obtain an expert opinion on the goods if they are expensive e.g. a car or antique.

If the seller says anything misleading about the goods and you buy on the basis of what is said, then you may be able to seek a legal remedy, but this is difficult to enforce. It is often good practice to ask for a description of the goods in writng.

It is illegal for a trader to pretyend to be a private seller and the trader can be prosecuted. He will be trying to take away your statutory rights. If you have purchased from a trader your normal statutory rights wil apply.

IF YOU THINK THE TRADER IS POSING AS A PRIVATE SELLER, YOU SHOULD INFORM THE TRADING STANDARDS.

100 grand to turn it into a Fiat. Why didn't they just buy him a Fiat Twin Cam in the first place cos that's all they seemed to do to it? Better still a Lancia Thema Turbo or a Fiat Croma ie Turbo. Similar 0-60 and top speed and you can pick them up for nothing. Chip it, up the suspension and brakes, hmmmm, have to stop giving myself ideas, I can't afford the fuel and insurance.
