As far as I know, all car batteries have lead plates, calcium can be added to the electrolyte (or something like that)

If there is a Costco in your area, they sell Bosch Silver batteries at a good price. I bought the most powerfull one they sell, and it was about £39, over 70 ah I believe, with loads of cranking power.

Bosch Silver are a good battery, but not the right size fitment for the zed, you can bodge one in, but not sure if the original clamp will fit this.

The Bosch ones fit the compartment fine. The are not as high as the old Nissan ones, you just need to add a few washers to the threaded rods, or put a solid wood shim under the battery, works perfect.

Most manufacturers use the same numbers,

069 For UK spec (if you fit these to j specs the +/- are the wrong way round!!)

096 or 100 for imports.

I agree, I've got a Bosch Silver in my UK, and it's fit's like a glove.

Didn't even need washers on the tie down.
