Come on guys, surely there has to be a stock Z32 owner on here who wants to be on TV!!! :D

If mine was stock I'd be there like a flash........

Anyone??

Matty.

I'd love to oblige, but both ours are imports and auto's!!

I really do hope they get one and it beats the pants of the cacky 350Z!!! LOL.

People shouldn't really compare the two you know, the 300zx (Z32) was meant as Nissan's attempt at a true supercar to rival the best Porches etc.. and had a premium price tag to match (about £10k more than the current price of the 350z, and that was 12 years ago!!!) with advanced engineering for its time and supercar looks. Compare that to the 350 which is a "budget" sports coupe, far more ordinary in most respects, loaded with gimmicks, (ugly aluminium door handles that do nothing for the aerodynamics sir?) and aimed at getting sales from bored Audi TT owners!!

So all you 350z wanabees..... bring it on:rofl:

Paul N

Plus find a over 10 year old standard car where the injectors and engine are running perfectly.

Stuart

After the way they treated the club are people going to fall over themselves this time?

There is no shortage of machines out there....

I think you will stuggle for a standard one though.

Even down to exhaust because people replace it for a SS one. My history for my car shows each Nissan exhaust costs averages £450 and lasted for 3 years.

£100 more and you can get a SS one which should last forever if looked after.

Id be carefull if it is Jezza using your car. Didnt he smash the windscreen on the 350 after using it, then sent it back to Nissan?

beware of going on Top Gear with the prat

below is a copy of a post by Mike Feeney that is on the Z Club's thread on this same subject which sums up why the Z series will never win with J C ( sure it stands for Just a C**t)

in the last slagging of off the Z series he didn't want a Z32 included as if I remember he quite likes them so it looks like as mike says it is a prearranged think to slag off the 350 but then he is so fickle who knows which he will slag off to raise his tv audience andself ego

best thig that could happen is if all peole who went turned up in ZZ Top beards but would think this would go over his head

"Comparing stock for stock, on paper, a manual 300ZXTT and a 350Z are pretty closely matched to 60mph from a standing start, but to 100mph the 350Z is nearly a second quicker. If it's an auto 300ZXTT, then it will be goodbye on both tests. Launch techniques of the parties testing the cars will heavily influence the visual comparison. The "on the move" flat torque curve of the 350Z will probably give it the edge on most X to Y brackets. Round a track, its lower weight and improved suspension should give the 350 a discernable advantage - look at VBH round Angelsey vs the Audi TT - 5 seconds a lap quicker in the 350!

This means that the Top Gear test should be a very valid one and interesting viewing to the converts amongst us.

However, bearing in mind the insulting experience of our last visit, do any Club members really want to subject their pride and joy to the Clarkson biased tirade of insults? Don't kid yourself that he will listen to reason or be impressed by any statistics you might throw his way! Shave before you attend if you still insist on participating (or take a load of mates with huge and obviously false beards with you). You have to ask what the intention of this test will be (because that is already determined before you get there): to have a pop at the only Z left out of the last show or to gain ammunition for his stand alone approach to criticism of the 350Z?

BTW, if we don't do this hopefully someone will tell them why?"

Z32 SWB N/A and 280ZX 2-seater (in bits for mods) and a 350Z in Azure Blue.

Brentwood, Essex

I would have though that Gio would be the obvious candidate, but he's got a beard and should obviously avoid Clarkeson ! ;)

Oi! (and a leather jacket... hehehe)

Hmmm.....

I have a standard unmodified UK manual (I'm back home in Norfolk at the moment hence my un-subscribed status if anyone was wondering!). I would be interested as I've finished work for the year now so could easily make it but I would be a bit concerned about the state of my car once it had been thrown around the TG test track.

Also, despite everyhting running Ok at the minute, I have noisy diff, worn upper link arm and have just paid £240 for some P-Zero's on the back - I would probably need to do the same again afterwards!

I will pm them anyway to see what's involved - if they have some kind of insurance scheme in place in case of damages then I might consider it.

The fact that the Z32 is in Clarkson's top 100 cars of all time vid could then also be mentioned repeatedly!

I'm also 23 and could not grow a beard if I tried.

Having just been out for a blast, I'm now wondering if I should have offered...my car is a bit noisy due to the diff, needs wheel allignment, has a baulky warm gearchange (shifter bushings need doing and I haven't got around to it) and has a couple of bodywork dings. Its also on its original clutch and shocks as far as I know.

Whilst these minor niggles don't bother me too much, and are just on a list of a few jobs, I'm concerned that if these things are picked up on, the Z32 will be slated and our cars might get a bad rep on national telly.

Maybe somebody with a better condition manual car should offer instead? Import maybe?

Would be a laugh though, espescially if I could get a go in a 350Z round a track.

shame mine isnt on the road as its already been on top gear once before JC didnt drive it then but they were very complementary about the 300zx!!

Sorry but I wouldnt let that prat JC anywhere near my pride and joy!

Nick

I pretend to work, they pretend to pay me!

You never know he may praise it as he said the 350Z was terrible.

Of course he is going to say the 350Z is terrible

all Just a C**t's content are predetermined and preplanned why do you think 3 Z32 are being featured in the current programme and why wasn't a Z32 included in the recent programme that included at thier request every model in the Fairlady Z range except the Z32

then Just a C**t couldn't say that every fairlady got worse than the previous when he had included the Z32 in his best car lists

all Just a C**t is doing is using the his anti 350Z stance for is to promote his own viewing figures and justify the fee he gets paid to be arguementative

maybe he should join here and then go in the fight club and then he could spout his normal crap for all his hearts content

If he slags the 350Z off and in the tests the 350Z is driven faster than the 300ZX then do you think for one minute he will be nice about the 300Zx or will he slag it off?

Your car will probably come back broken somewhere.

Ladies and Gentleman of the Jury...

I suppose I cannot blame your cynicism,

The piece is not to set up a good vantage point with which to jump on new cars - or old, for a slagging.

The point is simply a reflection of discussions we have in the office all the time - the new 206 is great, but we all remember the golden years of the 1.9 205.

When the 350Z came out, were some Z32 owners interested in which was quicker? Straight line or track?

I know a number of Focus RS owners, and they are always going on about being quicker than the cossie, deep from underneath its shadow.

The 300 is not up for a roadtest, and will not be in the studio. We have had a Z32 owner come forward, and are extremely grateful to owners - as without them the programme cannot be made.

Hopefully when you all watch the piece on Sunday, you'll see...

Kind Regards,

Rowland

PS. Jeremy doesn't like beards. He's never liked Beards. Lots of people don't like beards. Other people do. I personally don't mind them - my dad used to have a beard.............

PPS. MPH is not run by Top Gear. I'm on the editorial team and I love the 300ZX - well anything Japanese with a 3.0 24v V6 lump is cool in our book.

PPPS. The 300ZXs in our boffin burnout were supplied by Steer From The Rear - a display team, and were not owners cars.

I think we need to get a proper zed submitted for the Stig to take around the track.

I think it would be cool if we could get them to do a report on the easiest and cheapest way to get road going supercar...

er and that would be a zed!
