Any one use these turbos from these? Are they any good?

Featured Replies

I *think* my UK TT had one of it's turbos replaced by Turbo Technics (shortly before I bought it). Can't say whether they were nice blokes but both my turbos work and the cost was pretty cheap according to my receipt. They'd probably be my first port of call when I next need some tub work.

Most of this is from memory. I'll take a look at my bill-stack tonight and try to come back with more info.

[ sorry, I'm running stock boost and stock everything else, so performance measurements are not too useful! ]

Cheers,

Russ.

Stu one downside with turbo technics is that if there turbo is faulty in any shape or form they will not pay a penny towards the removal and replacement of there faulty product, even if it's a week after fitting , :(

I was looking at their site and they do exchanges on turbos from cars which have Garrett as standard.

What was the cost of your turbos on your car? And what type are they if you dont mind me asking?

Yea many many years ago! 10 to be exact on a XR4I twin turbo conversion.See always been INSANE;)

Do a search here on this and you should find some interesting info about quality and helpfulness, few guys here have had them in the past and got different experiences.

Stuart -

Sorry I forgot last night. It's on my hand in ink now (some people might look at me funny on the tube with "TUBS" written on my hand...)

I'll let you know tomorrow.

Cheers,

Russ.

"Did the plan work, Edwaaaard?"

heh, exactly. This is me on my wedding day. She's Myyyyy Wiiifffe Nnnooowww!

Anyway, I took a look at the receipt last night and it doesn't help much, I'm afraid. Geezer-man bought a J/C 6697 in May 2002 for £491.74 inc. VAT. I've no idea what a J/C 6697 is, and it looks like there're no fitting costs at all. So, all in all that probably doesn't help too much!

Cheers,

Russ.

Hope it's cleared up mate ;)
