Normally speaking I'd have more than one car, but this year I only have the Zed for work, so I'm hoping like hell we don't get any snow this year cos it'll be a bus job:( & I hate buses. I can't even get my car out of the cul-de-sac because of a steep hill.

How will you get to work?

Got another car :) Haven't driven the zed in the snow before and wouldn't like too lol, well not on public roads ;)

Group buy on spikey snow tyres?

Drive my s13 sideways... that way I'm not too concerned about hitting lampposts, other road users, dogs, little old ladies etc....

Assumption: Get to work - only I ever get another job, but I'd steal the bosses 4x4 after all she can walk to the local shops to spend my money instead. Failing that take the MPV bus at least I can avoid a collision by running around the footwell.

As it's my only car, I guess it's sideways for me :D

Only live a mile away from work so will have to walk if need be :(

I've got a daily driver but depending on how bad the snow was I would probably walk to work as I only live about 1 mile away

if it's just a bit, then dooorifty dooorifty in the S13.

if it's a lot dooorifty dooorifty in the expendable BMW. :D

My first year with 2 cars. Past years I have driven the Z and had to stop at the bottom of the street sometimes because they car cant get up the hill when its snowed.

I have traction control on my Zed but i'd still use my trusty passat estate, but the only prob is on the Zed are standard wheels and on the VW are some aftermarket 17"'ers so dunno which would be cheaper to curb.

Not that i want to curb either of um.

It would be fun to take the Zed on to a nice snowy car park and unleash the wheelspin. Getting it there would be scary though.

P.S. I'd still go sledging proberly.:D :D :slap:

You could tow it with the passat.... :D

Is the estate rear wheel drive? If so the Z would be better as estate's rears are very light and dont grip well.

No it's front wheel drive, and with it's weight which i think it's more than the Zed you turn a corner in the wet and you go straight on hence the 17" alloys to help out the cornering (slightly)

Kia99 - This'll shock ya, i don't have a tow bar on the veedub, but it would be handy for when the Zed breaks down.;)

I don't really wanna think about this! The Z is my only transport, and when it was off the road last week for a replacment cooling hose I had to get public transport. I live about 7 miles from work and the journey involves......

a LONG walk to the train station, a LONG wait for a train. Change onto a Tube, go 4 stops and change onto ANOTHER tube, followed by another LONG walk at the end.

Last Friday I thought I'd take the bus to the station. Waited in the freezing cold for 1/2 hour. Bus trundles along - PACKED. We go three stops and the driver kicks us all off. WHY? Because he was running late, and it makes their figures look bad, so they turn the bus around and make all 40 passengers wait in the cold again for another bloody packed bus to come along.

Public transport is SHIT, and ALL their performance figures are bare faced LIES!!!!!

Surely they can't legally get away with this. I would write a letter of complaint.....

But I guess the goverment are not interested about public transport as it is not a revnue earner eh!. Let's just build some motorways and make them Toll roads instaead.

I hate buses, not only do they stop every 30 seconds, they always have fooked suspension so that when you get off it you feel like you wanna chuck! Saying that, if that does happen then I can go off sick & do some sledging later

I would have stayed on it.

A bus driver tried to tell me that the bus (last one of the night) only ran to a certian stop, which happened to be near the bus depot. I told him that I was not walking 2 miles in the rain and if I were to walk the remainder of my journy I would phone the bus company the next day to confirm what he had said.

I got my lift to the required detination :D

I'll get to work the same way I do everyday,

roll out of bed and go into my office, maybe get dressed if the heating hasn't come on yet :)

Would be nice to work from home :)

Use my trusty old V6 Rover till Christmas then thats going off the road to be breathed upon to add a further 50 bhp to it! Havin driven the Z so much 167bhp in the ROver just aint enough for a daily driver so need more power!!

These Z's are a real bad influence!!! :D :D

Pfft. Why get out of bed? I lean over, grab the laptop that's fallen on the floor... push all the beer bottles out the way and carry on working. I don't even need heating - this old machine gets the bed warm in minutes :D
