Z CLUB POST below

I have been in contact with David Whittock who is heading the organisation of this live action event and we are keen to get some Z Club involvement. Read his description first:

"I am very pleased to hear that you may be able to help with a range of Z Nissan's to use as a sequence during the live show. To give you an insight on the show, MPH 03 is a new form of motorshow in that the emphasis is on a one and a half-hour theatre production show, as opposed to a series of static exhibition stands.

More in line with the “Royal Tournament” or the “Horse of the Year Show” but for cars MPH will run for the first time this December in Earls Court, London with the enthusiastic backing of media partners The Sunday Times, Top Gear Magazine and Virgin Radio.

There will be nine identical performances of the show, all taking place in the 4000 seat themed arena over the 4 days.

This event basically replaces the old London Motorshow and we have been retained by the overall event organisers to produce and manage the “Theatre” production, having run high profile motoring events and productions for a number of years.

The main presenter is Jeremy Clarkson who will be supported by his Top Gear co-presenter Richard Hammond and the shows will be fast paced with sections covering:-

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _Funny/strange cars

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _Supercars

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _Motorsport

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _Normal road cars

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _Guest celebrity involvement

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _Car/film stunt sequences

If possible I would like one of the sections to be a feature on the Nissan Z range, and in an ideal world to feature the 240,260,260 2x2, 280, 300 Z31, 300 Z32, and the 350. These cars do not have to be exact and can be of the imported variety. It's the presentation that counts, not the originality.

The cars would drive into the theatre arena slowly and stop, then talked about by the presenters, possibly at this point some of the drivers may also be interviewed. _The whole presentation would be done theatrically with lights, sound and film and would be a unique experience for the spectators and extensive media people in attendance.

We would obviously work with you so that the club achieved what was required which could include promotion and VIP guest packages."

1. Despite what David said, Jeremy Clarkson will NOT be presenting the Z section. It is now in his contract, at Nissan's insistance, that he is not allowed to comment on the Z range or the 350Z at this event. The presentation of this section, I am assured, will be by Tif Needell.

2. The committment is serious if you want to be involved personally. There are two options: you lend your pride and joy and allow their professional drivers to do the show or you commit to four days in London and participate in the show yourself, doing interviews etc. in the arena. Obviously in the latter, you would be representing the Z Club and the history of your model. I am assured (as you would expect for an event of this magnitude) that full car and public liability insurance is in place.

3. The organisers are prepared to meet reasonable expenditure incurred and, for those staying in London with their cars and participating, would provide hotel accomodation.

4. Obviously, your car needs to be a good example of its type, reasonably but not absolutely original and you need to be prepared to prep it for this active display. I think that Nissan will want to use their own 240Z and 350Z.

O.K. - a tough one for you, but your chance to be a stage struck superstar. Please phone me to discuss, tell me about your car and let me know what package you could provide for us - 01277 374201 or e-mail mike@mjpauto.com
