One reason I love my car as that I think it looks cool. Can't say that about many 13 year old cars.

I was reminded of this on the way home tonight. I had to stop at a pedestrian crossing and a bunch of people wandered across in front of me. All except one schoolboy. He must have been about 10 or 11, and as soon as he saw the Zed he stopped in his tracks and stood there open-mouthed for about 5 seconds. He then ran around to the back of my car (obviously to see what gorgeous piece of exotica to tell his mates about).

As the lights went green I felt it only right 'n proper to treat him to a blast of Twin Turbo'd V6 through a stainless Mongoose system. (couldn't quite see his face by then, but I was grinning from ear to ear).

ZEDS ARE SOOOOOOOOO COOL

I've had public recognition for my Zed.

Took my zed down Southend, just once, and people actually got their cameras out for it (which surprised me) and pissed off the misses cos the car got totty attention. (Note to self, leave wife at home when going down to Southend in Zed).

Was up North to see family and driving it around Hertlepool got some good responses, with people giving the thumbs up. Yes that's thumbs not fingers.

I think with films such as Fast & Furious, the zed is forgotten, but when people see a Zed, they like the shape and the V6 sound.

Yeah, my business partner has slagged my zed some as being old and japanese, but I was following his Merc CL500 AMG earlier today and we passed a crowd of young professionals and they gawped at the zed and ignored the merc. He was so pissed of when we got to the pub!

Certainly is, as I discovered the hard way by bringing the missus along for a cruise/meet, girls just don't seemed to be bothered if you have yer missus with you.

Now I am not allowed to go to Southend on my own :(
