who'd have it?!

The first modem we had on our home PC was 9600Baud. LOL

Then it was 14.4k. Massive download speed of 1.5K if you where at full speed. But that was before Internet Ads and Junk mail was invented.

Pah! I had a 1200/75 that got it's power straight off the serial port! Used to run that on my monochrome 8086 laptop with twin floppies (no HD). I bought that thing 2nd hand cos it was a step up from running a software PC emulator on an ST. Internet?! What's that?! I used to hang out on a BBS - even had my own section for the ST stuff I'd written. Don't talk to me about connection speed... I could describe a picture down a bit of wet string faster than I could download one! Those were the days. F*ck me, HOW old am I again?!

Don't think it really understands my s(h)atellite link !

Don't need to test to see my connection is cack.

I have a TPON line and cos we (in the UK) rely on (B)ackwards (T)echnology I have to suffer with a 56k dial up.

My local exchange can handle 2 Kbits but my TPON line (fibre optic) is incompatible and I can't even get ISDN

The only reason I stay in Maldon is they have a good Kebab Shop.

Grrrrrr:mad:
