Vacuum Metalizing

£250 or (£215 for subscribed forum members)

+ £50 retainer

This price assumes upon receiving the modifies headlights, you will be sending your old headlights to me with no damage to them. I will be sending the headlights out without the 2 metal retaining brackets on the underside of each headlight or the 4 metal clamps that secure the rubber surround(2 small screws to each piece of metal). The purpose of this is to save you money on postage both ways. If you opt to send me your headlights before I send you the modified lights, extra costs will be requested if these metal clips and brackets are not taken off. It also assumes that there are no faults on the headlights and any other repairs with be at an additional cost.

**********************************************************

The inserts are proffesionally prepaired and then go through another 4 phase metalized vaccuming processs. Please do not attempt to remove or change the appearance of the inserts by sanding them or by any other method as this could cause problems for when they are going through the metalizing process.

Because of the very nature of headlights, most of you will require them on a daily basis. Hence, when you place an order with me, I send out a completed set of lights. I would like to think that you will get your headlights back to me with in 2 weeks so that that the next batch can be sent off and return you your £50 retainer.

You will notice that the prices have changed since the last time I was offering this service. This is due to the surface of the inserts not being smooth enough to work on and needing to be professionally prepaired.

However, you must appreciate that I am working on second hand parts that have been previously worked on so the finish, although very good, is not always immacualtely perfect. By this I mean that the reflectiveness will always be there, but if there are any imperfections in the plastic, they will appear.

Vacuum metalizing is not like paint spraying. It is about 10 times finer hence the reason for any minute imperfections appearing. Nevertheless, I do always try to provide a decent pair. I haven't had any complaints so far!

Cheers

Cos

You may want Cos to confirm that first :(

It looks like the answer is going to be yes - I am still doing these. My supplier confirmed to me yesterday that the newly prepaired inserts have come out good and so all that is left is for me to recieve and confirm. They will be posted to me today so should get them in a couple.

However, the reason for the delay has been due to suppliers not wanting to do such small numbers and also not wanting to metalize the insert as it is. Therefore, the inserts are having to be professionally prepaired first before they can be metalized - hence extra cost. The prices above will need revising but it won't be by much.

Stu & cj_ - YHM.

Macca - Will call you tonight. Will you be in?

Latest update !!

I am currently getting some more lights together for the next round. I would imagine that I will have about 4 sets available by the end of November, maybe even 5 if I can get enough inserts available in time. If you are interested, please email me.

Chunk - I am putting yours together as we speak. Should be ready next week.

Jaffa, ChrissyP, robert_sherali, MarkZX, Shrimpy, and Faisal. - As you guys have already shown interest, if you are still wanting a set done, let me know, by the end of this month.

If anyone is looking for other mods such as indicators or angel eyes, please email me with the details.

Alternatively, if anyone has thier car off the road and would like thier lights done, they can send me thier lights which should ensure a faster turn around.

Please do not email my hotmail account as it is no longer in use.

Cheers

Is you car off the road ATM? Email me with what you want exactly.

cos.theo@mailcity.com

Cos sorry about the delay but iv ben having a good think about these lights!

Iv finally decided that due to the colour iv decided on, the chrome insert wont look to well with the car but im defianetly want the angel eyes as they look way cool!

Problem is my front bumper doesint have any space for sidelights or indicators!

Sidelights can be replaced by the angel eyes, cant you do anything for the indicators or have i missed something that you've previously said!

Let us know

Cheers

Fas

Heh - I was just about to ask about indicators as well Fas..

Cos, I'm sure I read on this thread that you can put indicators into the light housings - don't suppose you have any pics of where you put them, have you?

Since the car is off the road, I have this urge to spend money on it.. :) (And some shiny bits might give me an incentive to fix the oil leaks ;))

Fas + AaronJB - sorry lads, I must have been on one when I was typing everything up. I have corrected the mistake so it should make sence now.

The 2 outer pics in my sig have both angel eyes and indicators. The indicators fit from behind the main beam. I will attach a couple more pics so it looks a bit clearer.

email me on cos.theo@mailcity.com and let me know what you current situation is and I will advise as best as I can.

Cheers

Car is of road ,but I hope only for an other week or so, but I have an other set of lights and I intend to go wide arsed around Feb so I would install then while final cosmetics are done to my car. So I can send you a set anytime.

P.S. I have done the GB HID kit convertion to mine so I'd send specs of the lamp unit so none off your work would interfere.

Cos, i have two headlights with the glass and the plastic rears removed already from them (basically its just the plastic internals) how much is it to do these for me ?

Cheers dude

Chopper and MarkZX - YHPM

Nice work Cos, these are a must av :hyper: Gotta get some funds ;)

Will these headlights also pass the motor vehicle control test. I live in Switzerland ??

Good question Roy!

I'm not sure how it is in Switzerland but so far, there have been around a dozen people that have have either this chrome finish, or the baco foil style finish and so far, no-one that I know of has had any problems, me included. Any light that is not directed by the main lense, is refracted by the headlight glass. This I assume is what ensures that the headlights do not fail.

Hope this answers your question.

Cheers

Cos
