Insurance based question, I need to be a member of an owners club. Aside from "here", in the UK I can only find the Nissan Trubo Owners Club.

Now, am I just poor at googling, or is that it?

What club do other "Funday" car users belong to here, to qualify for that all important reduction?

Well it's recognised by us (:)) and if you've subscribed then you have a membership number, so that might meet your needs. At the moment we are not affiliated with any of the recognised organisations, but that is planned.

There's also http://www.zclub.net, and there is a perception that it's more of a "proper" club. Personally I find this one way busier and way friendlier, but there you go!

Barry,

It depends on what you mean by "recognised". As far as I am aware there are no Nissan UK officially sanctioned car clubs, however, Nissan Japan have formally recognised at least one;)

There are other forms of recognition. For example whether the club is a member of the MSA. Unfortunately, from experience this process can take up to 9 months.

Why do the insurance company want to know and what is the net benefit?

John

I presume its a "care and diligence" thing. If you will spend money and join a club then you are likely not to be as reckless with the car?

Not really sure it follows though. :p

I quite agree. Some 20ish oik buys a 1200 cc Nova and they charge about £3.50 for insurance. We spend a Gerzillion quid on cars and they rob us blind. Who is going to take more care of their car?
