sounds like fun to me. we could even throw a charity element into it and get sponsors for how many laps they cover before they die/get crashed. anyone want to take it up? any moderators or club reps, etc fancy it? post up folks! cant wait:dance:

The point I was arguing is that you've asked for 'some backing from the club', I can't see why the club should subsidise an even of this type.

 

If you put forward a valid case for why some of the limited funds in club coffers should be put towards this and not used for say, producing a magazine, advertising and premoting the club, creating regalia for local events, etc etc. Then I'll take it seriously.

 

Alternatively, use it for this event and then moan when there's no club in 18months time. Hey, you haven't even bothered to pay a sub so why an I even bothering with you? Until you pay up shut the f**k up!

In what way was I trying to make myself look bigger m8? By your comment the implication was that you wanted support from the club, by that I, perhaps wrongly, assumed you meant financial. My point was and still is a valid one, the use of club funds to fund this event is wrong when there are plenty of other ways in which the money could be used to premote and bring in revenue, therefore ensuring the continued existance of 300zx.co.uk in whatever form.

 

And perhaps you should do some research yourself, you have been a member of this board for only a few months, without people like me there wouldn't even be a board as we put our hands in our pocket to ensure that twats like you had somewhere to use as a resource for keeping your car on the road, you owe us far more than you realise.

 

Oh, and before you decide to be a smart arse again, I understand what a car club is, try: http://www.tssc.org.uk it's the biggest Triumph Club in the world with 14,000 members and I'm one of the directors, so I'm well aware of what makes a club tick.

Nobody is trying to start a fight. I'm sorry if you did not see my comment as constructive, as an open forum, we are all free to put forward an opinion. I just did not see that thrashing a load of old cars around a circuit would do much to premote the club.

 

There were over 1000 track days organised in the UK last year. I would say that what you are advocating would be asier and without doubt cheaper to arrange through someone like http://www.bookatrack.co.uk http://www.easytrack.co.uk

I fully undertstand what makes a club, and that is two things...

 

People (members) and money.

 

You need a balance of both.

 

At the moment the club is a drop of piss in the internet ocean, if, and I do mean if, this club is to grow to be more than a few Mb on a server then there must be more made to premote the cars and club in a good light.

 

Just my 2 penneth, and fyi I do not threaten people but I will react to anyone who feels it necessary to call me a c**t.

 

We'll agree to differ on this I think.

 

 

PS: I've just realised something, in reference to your commenta about me not having fun, I organised the original and to date the only track day that members of 300zx have been to en-mass. :D Hmm, claim to fame I think.

I'm treating the wife to her first Track day in January at Brands Hatch and I used it as an excuse to get the lens, just looking forward to those shots of the TVR charging up the hill towards Druids.

Wow you chaps really make this thing swing (litterally) we can all bet on who will slug it out and the winnings go to the club. I'm sending my membership fee in the post staight away. This is the best club have seen in years, "is it wood or plastic"? whoops that might have been a spoon.

 

Anyway whats this about a Karting day. I know a few people that own good outdoor circuits. LLany Gors (I think thats how you spell it. I only live in Wales) is one of the best if not the best. Up hill and down dale 1.7klm I think. Anyway it bloody big and reasonabley demanding.
