auto box

following the destruction of my auto box my dealer has offered to share responsibility and is willing to stump up 50% of the costs - very fair since I've had the car a year. However the specialist he's taken it to quotes £1400.00 to rebuild plus the cost of new oil cooler. Sounds expensive to me so can anyone give me an indication of what it has cost and/or where I may get it done cheaper. I live in southampton. Thanks guys :)

    I think that's quite good to be honest mate.

     

    Mine was about 2k if I remember correctly, mind it was some time ago now and I have been to bed since......
