As some of you may know from reading my thread in the general section. A bolt came undone holding my balance bar on.

Is it ok to stick some threadlock on the bolt and do it back up or should I replace the seal that is underneath?

Any advice would be welcome.

Edds.

I don't think there is a seal under it. The thread goes straigh into the balance car. I woul dpu t a small about of thread lock at the top of the bolt (i.e. near the head), as this stuff sets hard and you don't want any excess in your plenum as you know where that will end up ;)

I think Edd means the 3 o-ring seals that go between the balance bar and the plen.

Just nip it back up Dave, should be ok;)

Ah right I thought he meant the bolt itself.

I used a dab of red semi hardening on my balance bar to get a nice seal, but as Mac says you probably won't need it, just put it back on.

Cheers guys, sounds like good advice, glad you managed to work out my totally mad english. I will re-visit my balance bar tomorrow.

SMW1 - Whats the red semi hardning stuff you mention? Bit paranoid as my bar has probably been off loadsa times, and I would prefer a good seal.

It's a semi hardening compound called liquid red.

You can get this from your local halfords.
