Guest IP addresses are all very similar, almost certainly a webcrawler/spider doing it's work.

its part of the internet, spiders and robots help us be seen, its not impacting on the board so there is no need to stop them.

Right time to show my ignorance being an engineer and not an IT bod, whats a web crawler and what do they do? I am taking it that they are nasty then???

Nope, not usually nasty. They typically belong to sites like Google that provide indexing services, so periodically sites will be visited, relevant info captured and then added to an index somewhere.
