Just had an interesting problem on a fellow Zed owner hwo's car started smoking badly,misfiring pinking . he limped to my house and when he got here there was smoke coming from everywhere

he thought it was on fire, I looked underneath and the cats were cherry red , you could have put a screwdriver through em like butter..........................................after several tests and checks I can now comfirm its problem was ..........................Diesel ffs

so there you have the first Zed to run on diesel allbeit not very well,,, still don't know how he got it to my house , cause it struggled to pull on my driveway.

 

 

just remember don't let your wife put fuel in your Zed if she drive a diesel.lol:dance: :dance: :dance:

you should try running a real diesel they run on chip fat, kerosene, parrafin in fact any old sh*te you put in

 

......err so i was told anyway. :rofl:

followed a realy nice VOLVO on a b reg

crap heap really stunk of chipshops

sticker on back said runs on waste oil duty paid

 

 

put me off chips for life

Sounds like he'll be needing new cats at the least!!, probably glowing red from partially burnt deisel fuel coating the cat ceramic and burning like a jet engine when air flows through the exhausts!! that would explain them being nearly molten!! amazed it ran at all though, can't have been too high a concentration of deisel/petrol mix.

 

Hope its not buggered up his filters/injectors

One day around 1996 my mrs did two motors in one day:eek: to say i went ballistic was an understatement,but no harm done in the end:rolleyes:

surprisingly no damage done allthough after draining diesel out and running car it still was pinking its nuts off, owner said it always did pink a little,ffs checked timing and was at 37degrees

reset and ok running sweet. its a wonder he hasn't got square pistons, the diesel concentration was not weak believe me I can't believe it ran mayby with the timing advanced helped it chug along either way it won't have done the engine anygood probable aged it 5 years lol.
