I am on a Fire Rescue Unit course, since I am changing my role at work!

 

Part of the work it does is airplane chrashes and we visited the Aircraft Accident Investigation Centre!

 

In there they had about twenty aircraft that were involved in accidents and had reassembled the wreckage of the Lokerbie plane on a gigantic wire frame, with the section of the explosion blatantly obvious!

 

Very eerie!!!

 

We also deal with car crashes so if you have a prang in your Zed in South London and see one fireman saying that we have to take the wheels off to get you out of the car, just agree with him!!:D :D

hi mark i know how u feel,

i am on a fire rescue team at work and it can be very demmanding

and the things you see very disturbing,

 

but if you can switch off when you come home its half of the battle its a very dangerous and demmanding job one to be proud of!!

 

just remember no heroics!!!

Fire rescue did a fantastic job when I was in a car accident years ago on the M1. The police there didnt know what they where doing and luckly the fire brigade did.

They should be paid double what they get,they saved my brothers life one night,they had around 2 mins to get him out of car,upside down in a deep ditch,middle of the night,was on fire,he had hit tree too,saw the wreckage afterwards,how they got him out god knows,and he had broken his neck and damaged his spine,fantastic people,:) Tony
