I have a MINES ecu which as I understand comes out of the factory set up to run with 440cc or 550cc injectors , not 370cc injectors.

I have been running the ecu with standard 370cc injectors at 14psi with no problems but will be having the tubs replaced next week with new standard tubs, so was going to put some 555's in at the same time to be able to run 16.5 psi .

now my question is if the ecu has been set up to run on 440cc injectors will it run like a bag of nails if I use 555cc injectors ??

Cheers

from my understanding it might run a bit rough due to the fact it wont be allowing enough fuel to the bigger injectors, it also might cause you to actually have less power.

It shouldnt be a problem to get it reprogrammed, i have been quoted about 2 hours labour at hyper sports to put a new map on the car using a o2 sensor.

As I understand it the injection pulse time dictates the amount of fuel delivered so assuming it was set for 440's then using it with 370's would make it run weak. Similarly using it with 550's wil make it rich. The time pulse should be shorter for the same power demand.

Maybe the feedback from the O2 sensors can adjust this to some extent but I'm not up on that.

running weak on 14psi is not to be recommended! Holed pistons come to mind.

I think with your investment a mod to the programming is worth doing to ensure its set for 550's.

Rich running will not only waste loads of fuel it could also lead to bore wash and increased cylinder wear due to the oil being washed off.

Still you'll prolly get flames out the zorst if you like that kind of thing;)

Cheers guys

the flames out of the exhaust could be fun ;) :D

I think I will have to get the serial number of the ECU and somehow check with MINES

I'd be very surprised if it's not set up for 370cc's. I'd imagine it would be detting at 14Psi if it was really set up for 440 or 550cc unless you've raised the fuel pressure

got me worried now never had Dett but have got hold of the UK supplier for MINES and they have confirmed that they only ever produced there chips to run 440cc and 550cc injectors and nothing else.

I have given them the serial number and they are going back to MINES with it to see what it is set up to run with.

The Mine's ECU is set to run on standard injectors.

Have done 10,000 in mine with no problem at all, the only thing is that I make sure I only use Optimax or Super.

I've done 5,000 in mine with no problem either , I can only go by what Option Motorsport = the suppliers of MINES in the UK have said

was looking at my ecu yesterday to do a diag and noticed my ecu has a plate with mines written on it are these anygood?

I would say that the improvement mid-range is quite considerable.

Tim

Have been running mine with a mines vx-rom for about 8 months and it runs perfect !!!

Very strong in the midrange.
